Euro Paper Talk: Spurs hold double transfer talks today for two stars Antonio Conte loves; Leeds linked with three more signings, with Serie A pair next

Marcus Edwards of Sporting Lisbon warms up before the UEFA Champions League match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London

Tottenham are holding talks over two players on Wednesday in a potential £55m double deal, Leeds are chasing three more signings this month with a Serie A midfielder among their targets, while Wednesday’s Euro Paper Talk confirms Liverpool interest in a Portugal midfielder.

PEDRO PORRO TALKS FOR TOTTENHAM

Tottenham director Fabio Paratici will on Wednesday reportedly meet with Sporting Lisbon officials to discuss two possible signings.

Antonio Conte’s side are in something of a bad moment having fallen adrift of the Champions League places. And their problems were brutally exposed by Aston Villa on New Year’s Day as Unai Emery’s side earned a deserved 2-0 win.

After the match, Conte claimed it was unrealistic to expect Spurs to challenge for the title. And unless there is further investment in the club, then a fifth-placed finish is the best they can ask for.

However, reports on Tuesday suggested the club are preparing to back Conte with hard cash in January.

And it seems his top target is Eintracht Frankfurt playmaker Daichi Kamada, who is nearing the end of his contract.

Spurs, though, face strong competition for the Japanese star, with Sevilla and Barcelona also keen.

And it seems their most urgent priorities lie elsewhere. As such, the Daily Mail claiming talks are being held on Wednesday for a pair of Sporting Lisbon stars.

Top of the agenda is Sporting wing-back Pedro Porro. Conte is desperate to strengthen the right side of his defence with both Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty failing to impress.

And Porro is fast emerging as Conte’s No 1 target to come in. Sporting though are reportedly standing by the £39m (€45m) exit clause in the Spaniard’s deal. As such any deal will not come cheap.

Spurs also keen to re-sign Marcus Edwards

As part of the talks for Porro, Spurs are also looking to bring Marcus Edwards back to the club.

The former Tottenham youngster has found his feet in Portugal and caught the eye with two excellent displays against them in the Champions League.

Conte is looking for another wide attacker, especially amid claims Lucas Moura may be heading back to Brazil.

And Edwards may well fit the bill. Sporting value the player at around the £30m mark. However, Tottenham hold a 50% sell-on clause in the deal that brought him to the Portuguese capital. Therefore, a compromise deal of around £20m could be struck.

Reports claim Paratici is looking to close out a £55m double deal for the pair, which would go some way to appeasing Conte.
