Euro Paper Talk: Conte to get one over Arteta as sneaky Tottenham raid for defensive colossus takes shape; Leeds chasing Brazilian with £87m exit clause

Paulo Otavio challenging Evan Ndicka

Tottenham look set to beat out competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Newcastle to sign a highly-rated Bundesliga centre-back, while Thursday’s Euro Paper Talk has an update on Leeds’ chase for a Brazilian forward with an £87million exit clause.

Tottenham have reportedly jumped to the front of the queue to snap up Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Evan Ndicka ahead of Premier League rivals.

Spurs, Arsenal and Newcastle have all been linked with the France Under-21 international, who played a major role in Eintracht’s Europa League success last season.

The defender has already made 23 appearances this season, with his club currently fourth in the Bundesliga. They are also through to the Champions League last 16 and will face Napoli.

Tottenham know all about Ndicka having faced him twice in the group stage of this season’s competition.

And the fact his contract runs out next summer makes him an attractive option for a number of clubs. claims that Roma also have have Ndicka on their wanted list, along with West Ham target Jakub Kiwior.

Ndicka keen on Premier League move

However, the player himself is said to favour a switch to the Premier League. And the report adds that Spurs are very much in the mix to snap him up.

The fact that Ndicka has already played at the north London club’s impressive stadium could also be an advantage to a Spurs side that are also in the knockout stage of the Champions League.

At this stage, it’s unclear whether Antonio Conte will look to complete a bargain deal in January or wait until the summer for a free transfer.

However, if Tottenham do win the race for Ndicka it will mean them getting one over on north London rivals Arsenal.
