Next Tottenham boss: ‘Keep an eye’ on two exciting Premier League coaches as Antonio Conte era enters ‘end game’
Tottenham fans should ‘keep an eye’ on Robert de Zerbi and another impressive Premier League manager as club chairman Daniel Levy looks for Antonio Conte replacements, TEAMtalk has been told.
Conte has been heavily tipped to leave the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when his contract expires in the summer. There are several reasons why the Italian is considering an exit.
Conte’s spell at Tottenham has not gone to plan. He has failed to help them end their long trophy drought or get them involved in the Premier League title race.
Conte has also had a torrid year, first with Spurs fitness coach and close friend Gian Piero Ventrone passing away and then having to have gallbladder surgery.
Several names have been linked with the job, including Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel, De Zerbi, Marco Silva and Luis Enrique.
Amid all the rumours, TEAMtalk understands that Conte has already decided he won’t be prolonging his stay beyond this summer.
The former Chelsea boss has entered the end game in terms of his time at Spurs.
Pochettino wants to return to the north London side and replace him. That decision now rests with Levy.
Tottenham keen on two exciting Premier League managers
Due to the calibre of job on offer, there will be several other candidates in the running. TEAMtalk has been told that Spurs fans should keep an eye on De Zerbi and Thomas Frank, who have done excellently at Brighton and Brentford respectively this season.
Conte could be followed out of the exit door by Spurs talisman Harry Kane. According to a recent report, the striker has scheduled in crunch talks with Levy to discuss his future.
