Tottenham are planning to make three exciting summer signings – with Fabio Paratici hoping to sign a trio of stars, starting with Paulo Dybala, all available on free transfers.
Spurs have endured a troublesome time on and off the pitch following the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino in 2019. Not only have they expended two managers, but their situation shows no real signs of improvement.
Antonio Conte, who has succeeded Nuno Espirito Santo and Jose Mourinho, has made no secret of the gap between Tottenham and the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City.
The Italian took major steps in reshaping his squad in January, that said. First up, he removed four first-team players, while adding Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski – both from Juventus.
Conte and Tottenham are now reportedly hoping to repeat that trick in the summer with a third raid on Juve for Dybala.
The 28-year-old forward has been strongly linked with both Liverpool and Spurs over recent seasons. But with his contract expiring at the end of the season, a parting of ways – this time – looks increasingly on the cards. Indeed, per recent reports, a series of talks has failed to see an agreement reached on an extension.
And while talks between the player and Juve are continuing, they seemingly remain some distance apart.
Dybala still to agree Juventus deal
The Bianconeri were ready to pay him a €10m-a-year contract, including add-ons. The forward currently earns €7.3m-a-year plus bonuses.
Just recently, La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed Dybala was seeking a salary in the region of €12m a year. That equates to around £190,000 a week.
Dybala interest from Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham
Dybala is free to leave Juventus this summer for free and Premier League giants Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham want the Argentina forward
Now Tottenham’s interest in signing Dybala on a free has been confirmed by football.london.
They state the Argentina star is being eyed by Paratici as one of three smart summer signings for Tottenham. However, were Dybala to sign a new deal at Juve, that will bring their interest to a close.
Dybala has 112 goals in 280 games for Juventus.
Tottenham also want Lingard and Kessie
As well as Dybala, Paratici is also on the trail of both Jesse Lingard and Franck Kessie.
The duo are also free agents this summer but, unlike Dybala, are no longer in contract talks with their respective clubs.
Lingard appears ready to move on after what Rio Ferdinand described as a “lost season” for the attacking midfielder.
With the World Cup in November, Lingard needs a move to put himself back in Gareth Southgate’s plans.
Kessie, meanwhile, finds himself a man in demand with his deal at AC Milan expiring.
He has previously held talks with Spurs over a potential January move but rejected the switch in order to see out the season in Milan.
However, he’s been linked with the likes of Barcelona, PSG, Manchester United and even Newcastle – meaning Tottenham will have their work cut out if they are to convince him to sign.
