Harry Kane ‘convinced’ of who he’ll play for next season as Tottenham receive ‘direct contact’ from bidders

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has chosen the only club he wants to join this summer and contact is underway to bring his long spell with Spurs to an end, it has been revealed.

Kane is questioning his future at Tottenham after another season without a trophy. Next term, they won’t even be in any European competition after finishing eighth in the 2022-23 Premier League table.

With one year remaining on Kane’s contract, it is a crucial summer for the striker. If he does not intend to renew his deal, which seems to be the case, then Tottenham may have to sell him.

They will be keen to get the right price for their all-time leading goalscorer, though. Furthermore, they remain reluctant to hand him over to another Premier League club.

With that in mind, links with Bayern Munich have recently picked up steam. Previously, there were doubts Kane would abandon the Premier League while trying to break its goalscoring record, but now a departure for the Bundesliga seems to be firmly on his mind.

Bayern made an official offer for Kane last month, but it wasn’t high enough to tempt Tottenham into a sale. Thomas Tuchel’s side have been plotting their next move ever since.

According to Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sports Deutschland, Bayern are ‘in direct contact with Tottenham’ ahead of their next offer.

Bayern rely on two negotiators for Kane transfer

The negotiations are being led by Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Bayern’s former CEO and before that an esteemed attacker in his own right.

Bayern’s technical director, Marco Neppe, is also playing a key part in the process. In fact, Plettenberg says it is Neppe who has ‘convinced’ Kane to join the Bundesliga champions.

It can now be determined that Bayern are the ‘only’ club Kane wants to move to. With the player’s mind made up, it is now over to the two clubs again to resume negotiations.

The alternative for Kane would have been to run his deal down by spending one last season at Tottenham before having his pick of next club on a free transfer. It may have been the only way for him to join another admirer like Man Utd.

But Bayern have clearly been convincing enough to tempt Kane to go there now. Having won the Bundesliga 11 times in a row, they should be able to finally provide a platform for Kane to win the trophies he craves.
