Harry Kane: Tottenham strategy pays off as Bayern admit defeat and switch transfer focus to Prem alternative

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy
Bayern Munich have reportedly identified Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez and Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic as alternatives to Harry Kane.
Tottenham have rejected two offers from the Bundesliga giants for Kane and it seems Thomas Tuchel has admitted defeat, for now at least.
Daniel Levy’s stance has always been £100m-or-bust for the striker, who has one year remaining on his contract. Now, it seems likely he will be remaining at Spurs for at least another season.
As previously reported by TEAMtalk, Tottenham have offered Kane a new £400,000-per-week contract as they look to stave off interest in his signature.
If the contract is signed, the England international will become the highest-earning player in Spurs’ history.
This shows how important he is to the London club. After all, he is their all-time leading scorer and shows no signs of slowing down, netting 30 Premier League goals last term.
Bayern Munich, along with Paris Saint-Germain, hold a firm interest in the England international, who has expressed a willingness to take on a fresh challenge elsewhere.
However, as mentioned, everything suggests he will remain at Tottenham, especially if he signs the new mega-money contract on the table.
But, that could surprisingly have ramifications for Manchester City.
Bayern eye Alvarez, Vlahovic as Kane alternatives
According to German outlet Bild, Bayern have already made a ‘Plan B’ in case they do miss out on Kane this summer.
The report claims that Tuchel is looking at bringing in Man City’s Alvarez or Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic on loan. Interestingly, Alvarez has recently emerged as a target for Arsenal, too.
Tuchel allegedly believes that a loan striker, along with Eric Choupo Moting and Mathys Tel are good enough forward options for the coming season.
Then, Bayern will try and lure Kane to the Bundesliga on a free transfer next summer, if he turns down Tottenham’s latest contract.
Recently, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou shed some light on Kane’s future in an interview.
“Kane is one of the premier strikers in the world and I want him involved here,” Postecoglou said.
“I just want to introduce myself to Harry, give him my vision, get an understanding from him over what his vision is and try to be successful.”
“My conversation with him will be about how we can make this club successful and there is no doubt that is what he wants as well.”
When asked if Kane had given him any assurances about staying at Tottenham, the manager added: “No, I haven’t had any assurances and I wouldn’t expect any assurances. For me, I am trying to concentrate on what I know now and Harry is part of the squad.
“I don’t think it is my role to sit there and sort of treat people in a manner because of their circumstances. I am big on treating everyone the same.”
