Tottenham, Arsenal tipped to sign 151-goal international striker if he drops £8.4m wage demands

Tottenham and Arsenal are very much in the race to sign Juventus striker Paulo Dybala but only if the Argentina star drops his unrealistic wage demands.

The 28-year-old, who has also been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United, will be out of contract this summer and as such is looking for a big signing-on fee and salary to go with it.

Dybala has been at Juve since 2015, winning five Serie A titles and four Coppa Italia’s during that time.

He has also scored 113 goals in 283 games for the Old Lady, who are already committed to the player’s exit.

Chelsea, along with the named Premier League quartet, have also been tipped to swoop for the classy attacker.

However, it now appears that the north London duo lead the race to get a deal over the line.

But Italian journalist and former coach, Giancarlo Padovan, claims that Dybala’s €10million (£8.4m) wage demands are excessive. That is despite the fact that will not cost a penny in transfer fees.

“He is a proud player, not depressed,” Padovan told Sky (via Sport Witness).

“He knows that besides Juventus there are many important teams, he knows that he can go to Atletico or stay in Italy, at Inter.

Spurs want Sam Johnstone as back-up GK

Tottenham are reportedly looking for a new back-up keeper for next season and top of their list is West Brom’s Sam Johnstone, who has enjoyed a good season at the Hawthorn’s.

“In England, there are Arsenal or Tottenham: in short, he will not remain unemployed.

“I don’t think he will earn the €10m (£8.4m) euros a year he is asking for. But he wants to prove that Juve was wrong not to confirm him.”

Tottenham, Arsenal have different Dybala needs

Throughout his career, Dybala has always been a proven goal threat – either playing as a central striker or as a No.10.

But Tottenham and Arsenal’s attacking needs are completely different.

Spurs want to bring in Dybala as more of a playmaker behind Harry Kane. The Gunners, meanwhile, are in need of more of a No.9, given that they expect to lose Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah this summer.

The former Palermo frontman has notched 151 goals in 415 career games. But tha fact he is only 28 and available for free, makes Dybala one of the most attractive transfer targets this summer.
