Following a good run in the last couple of games, the predicted Tottenham team against Manchester United could see Antonio Conte look favourably upon an in-form star.
Spurs look as if they are beginning to find their feet under Conte. Indeed, they have won their last two Premier League games in impressive fashion.
They beat Leeds United 4-0 a couple of games ago, and followed that up by defeating Everton 5-0. One player who has thrived during that run is Matt Doherty.
Two of just four league starts for the Irishman this term have come during those games, and he has contributed to four goals in that time. Conte has clearly been impressed with Doherty, something he mentioned ahead of the match.
“For sure Matt is a player that improved a lot from when I arrived,” he said.
“Now he is showing also personality, to be confident, for me with this system, wing-backs are very very important, very important, and to have this improvement is good.”
Though the other wing-back position is likely to change, which Conte alluded to.
“His [Ryan Sessegnon’s] performances were good, he was excellent and he was improving. He’s very frustrated. It’s very young to see a player like this frustrated by these injuries. It’s a pity,” Conte added.
Last time out – Tottenham 5-0 Everton
Captain Hugo Lloris started in net, with a back three of Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Ben Davies ahead of him.
Doherty – who assisted twice – and Sessegnon, played as the wing-backs, the latter sustained an injury.
Livramento to Tottenham with 2 players in exchange

Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg formed a partnership in the middle of the park.
The front line of Dejan Kulusevksi, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son was destructive. Kulusevski provided two assists, Kane scored a brace, and Son bagged a goal.
Predicted Tottenham team against Manchester United
Given Spurs’ good form in recent games, the team is not likely to change too much, other than due to injury.
Lloris is likely to start in goal, with Romero, Dier and Davies ahead of him; they will want to stretch the run without conceding in the league to three games.
Doherty could play as the right-sided wing-back, and Sessegnon’s injury means Reguilon could play on the left. Bentancur and Hojbjerg could play in the centre of the pitch.
The potent front three of Kulusevski, Kane and Son is likely to continue, and in a big game, they will need to be on form once again.
Predicted Tottenham XI: Lloris; Romero, Dier, Davies; Doherty, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Reguilon; Kulusevski, Kane, Son
