New Tottenham star Rodrigo Bentancur has sent a classy message to Juventus after his move to north London.

The central midfielder left Juventus on transfer deadline day to link up with Antonio Conte at Tottenham. He joined for an initial £15.9million, which could rise to £20.9m – according to BBC Sport.

24-year-old Bentancur, who represents Uruguay on the international stage, has penned a four-and-a-half-year deal with Spurs.

He won a host of trophies in Turin, including three Serie A titles and two Coppa Italias. In total, the star made 181 appearances for Juve after signing from Boca Juniors in July 2017.

After his move to Spurs had been announced, Bentancur posted a lengthy farewell to the Old Lady on social media.

“This club gave me the chance to come to Europe when I was very young, test myself in an important league such as the Italian one and wear a historic and prestigious shirt,” he wrote (via Football Italia).

“It was an honour and I will be forever grateful to Juventus and the whole Bianconeri family for these amazing four and a half years.

Rodrigo Bentancur wishes Juve luck

“Before the beginning of my new dventure in the Premier League, I want to wish the best of luck to the coach and my amazing teammates for the ongoing campaign.

“I know this group will give its best in every game to reach the targets. I want to thank everyone who works at Continassa for their professionalism and for not making me miss anything over the years.

“Thank you to all Juventus fans for welcoming me in Turin with great affection and for supporting me all the time.”

Bentancur was not the only arrival from Juve. Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski will continue to be his team-mate after joining Spurs on an 18-month loan deal worth £8.3m, as per BBC Sport.

Conte’s side also have the opportunity to make his move permanent for £29.2m.

Kulusevski impressed during a spell at Parma but has been unable to replicate that form with Juve. As such, Conte will be aiming to get the 21-year-old back to his attacking best.

Dele Alli departs Tottenham

It’s an end of an era for Dele Alli as the attacking midfielder has swapped Spurs for Everton in a transfer which could reach £40m.

The England international is new Toffees boss Frank Lampard’s first permanent addition. He comes after the loan move for Donny van de Beek from Manchester United earlier on deadline day.

The first £10m of his transfer fee will be payable after 20 appearances.

The 25-year-old is cup-tied for the FA Cup clash with Brentford this weekend. However, he could make his Everton debut at Newcastle a week on Tuesday.

“I’m delighted to have signed for Everton, a huge club with a great fanbase and history,” Dele said.

“I’m eager to get started and can’t wait for my first game in an Everton shirt.

“Looking forward to helping the team and the opportunity to work with the new manager Frank Lampard.”
