Four Premier League clubs are competing with two Bundesliga rivals for the signing of giant striker Sasa Kalajdzic, it has been claimed.
Standing at two metres tall, Kalajdzic has become a fearsome prospect for Stuttgart in recent seasons. Since they returned to the Bundesliga in 2020, he has scored 22 league goals from 48 appearances – including six from 15 appearances in the 2021-22 campaign.
In the process, he has been attracting clubs elsewhere. Now, four clubs could have the chance to take him to the Premier League.
According to Transfermarkt reporter Manuel Veth, Kalajdzic is now the subject of a six-way battle. Within the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have been in talks for his transfer.
But broadening his horizons, Kalajdzic has attracted a Premier League quartet of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Leicester City and Chelsea.
Each of the four suitors have shown interest in the Austria international. His agent has had productive discussions with Bayern, but they are far from guaranteed to land his services.
Hence, there could be a chance for Kalajdzic to make a move to English football for the first time in his career.
There could be a number of interesting opportunities for him to consider.
Who has biggest need for Kalajdzic?
Tottenham are looking for another centre-forward to support Harry Kane, while Man Utd need someone to evolve their attack in the wake of Edinson Cavani’s departure.
Leicester will require a long-term successor to Jamie Vardy at some stage, whereas Chelsea have been let down by Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku; the latter is on the verge of returning to Inter Milan.
Any could therefore have a reason to compete for Kalajdzic’s services. There is only one more year remaining on his contract with Stuttgart, so a transfer could be the best solution.
The asking price is not yet clear, but it should be reasonable enough. Therefore, there is a chance Kalajdzic could be plying his trade in the Premier League – or at a bigger Bundesliga club than Stuttgart – next season.
