Senior Tottenham star to link up with world’s best player at shock next club, as triple wage offer proves enticing

A player who has made over 400 appearances for Tottenham has been offered to triple his salary by leaving for a super wealthy club, and he could feature alongside the world’s best player there.

There will undoubtedly be some big changes at Tottenham this summer. Chairman Daniel Levy is searching for a new manager after sacking Antonio Conte earlier this season.

Julian Nagelsmann was heavily linked with the job, but Tottenham distanced themselves from the German recently. They have now set their sights on Thomas Frank, who has done a fantastic job at their London rivals Brentford.

The Bees are braced for Spurs to begin talks with them over Frank’s potential move. However, it remains to be seen if the tactician is willing to take the Spurs role, as he is very fond of Brentford and they are still on the up.

Levy also has some important decisions to make when it comes to the senior Spurs players. Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is now 36 years old and past his best, so he needs replacing this summer.

Harry Kane, meanwhile, is about to enter the final 12 months of his Spurs contract. Manchester United will make contact to see if they can sign him, so Levy will then have to decide what the best course of action is. If he rejects Man Utd’s advances, then Spurs risk losing their star man on a free transfer next year.

On Tuesday, reports revealed it is ‘increasingly likely’ Lloris will be the first Spurs man out of the door this summer. Spurs have been tipped to move for Dean Henderson of Man Utd as his replacement, although their preferred target at the moment seems to be Brentford shot-stopper David Raya.

French source Foot Mercato have now provided an update on Lloris’ route out of North London. They reveal that Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal have ‘caught the attention’ of the veteran keeper thanks to their lucrative contract offer, and he is currently weighing up whether to accept it.

Tottenham man offered lucrative contract

They have given him the chance to triple his earnings by moving to the Middle East with them. As per Spotrac, Lloris takes home £100,000 a week at Spurs, so he could earn £300k per week by joining Al-Hilal.

Lloris’ Spurs contract does run for another year, so Al-Hilal would have to pay a fee to sign him. However, this will be easily achievable for them as they have massive financial power.

Should Lloris’ Al-Hilal transfer go through, then he would have the chance to play alongside arguably the world’s best player in Lionel Messi. Various sources have revealed the Argentine attacker will leave Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer this summer.

Barcelona are trying to re-sign the club legend, although they may struggle to pay his wages. If they are ruled out of the running, then it will come down to a fight between Inter Miami and Al-Hilal.

A move to the Saudi Pro League does make sense for Lloris as it would give him the chance to earn huge money before hanging up his gloves, as well as potentially being in the same team as seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi.

However, it is surprising that the Spurs man does not want to return to his native France and end his career there. He has a close bond with Nice, having been born in the city and come through the club’s academy. He played in the Nice and Lyon first teams before moving to Spurs in 2012.

Meanwhile, Spurs have been linked with a shock move for a former Arsenal player who could prove to be a bargain signing.
