Sources: Tottenham plotting to beat numerous Premier League rivals to signing of West Brom sensation
Tottenham are plotting a move for West Brom starlet Jamal Jimoh as they look to beat a number of Premier League rivals to his signature, TEAMtalk understands.
Jimoh, 16, is regarded as one of the best youngsters in the country after impressing for West Brom U16s and U18s as well as various England youth age groups.
The likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea have been credited with an interest in Jimoh and now Tottenham have joined the chase for the exciting midfielder.
Tottenham scouts have made regular checks on the England U17 international in the last 12 months and they are ready to offer the teenager a move to North London.
West Brom have a proven track record of developing young talented players only to see them move on to other clubs such as Tim Iroegbunam and Louie Barry in recent years.
West Brom are aware of the growing interest in Jimoh and are bracing themselves for offers for the midfielder this summer.
Spurs set for academy revamp
Tottenham are aiming to revamp their academy by signing some of the leading young English talents in the youth age groups as they look to develop players for the first-team.
That approach certainly makes sense given the recent appointment of Ange Postecoglou on a four-year contract, given the Australian’s record in the past of promoting younger talent to his first-team squad.
It’s expected to be a busy summer of ins and outs at Spurs as Postecoglou looks to bring on talent capable of adapting to his fast, attacking style of play.
