Tottenham plotting Prem winger arrival at Arsenal, Chelsea’s expense, with major upgrade on exit-bound star hinging on Conte

Tottenham could sign a deadly Premier League winger without having to pay a fee next summer, though a deal will likely hinge on Antonio Conte being able to satisfy one critical demand, per reports.
Spurs’ forward line already contains some of the finest attacking talent in the Premier League. Harry Kane and Son Heung-min are guarantees in Conte’s eleven, leaving Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski to scrap for the third starting role.
Richarlison showed what he’s capable of for Brazil at the World Cup, while Kulusevski has been nothing short of a revelation in his first 11 months in north London.
Conte can also call upon Lucas Moura if required, though he’s very much a back-up option at present.
What’s more, Moura could depart in the summer. He previously confirmed his current deal is up at season’s end, though Tottenham hold an option for an extra 12 months. Whether they’ll trigger it is not yet known.
But if Moura does depart, Spurs will need a replacement and according to Football Insider, they’re aiming high.
They report Tottenham are mulling a move for Crystal Palace talisman Wilfried Zaha who they hope to sign on a free next summer.
Zaha’s current deal expires at the end of the season and per the report, he’s rejected multiple offers to extend his stay with the Eagles.
Arsenal have regularly been linked with Zaha in the past, while TEAMtalk’s transfer insider, Graeme Bailey recently detailed Chelsea’s interest too.
“Contract talks have taken place but a new deal for the 30-year-old does not look likely at this stage,” said Bailey.
“Zaha still has a dream of playing in the Champions League in his career, but that only happens with a move.”
Bailey added: “Both Arsenal and Chelsea have shown a real interest in the past 12 months but he is not currently seen as a top priority.”
Zaha to Tottenham could depend on Conte heroics
With Arsenal and Chelsea pursuing other targets – such as Mykhaylo Mudryk and Christopher Nkunku respectively – the door is ajar for Spurs to stride through.
FI report Tottenham are interested in making the deal a reality and are keeping tabs on Zaha’s situation.
However, as Bailey mentioned, one of Zaha’s key demands will be Champions League football.
As such, the onus is on Antonio Conte to guide Spurs into the top four when all is said and done this season.
Competition for the UCL places is fiercer than ever thanks to Newcastle’s rapid rise. However, Conte was brought in for exactly these types of tough battles and he’s already shown he can guide Spurs into Europe’s elite competition.
If he does so again, Spurs may find themselves best-placed to lure Zaha in for free next summer.
Zaha has got better with age at Selhurst Park, returning a career-high 14 league goals last term.
He’s already bagged six in 13 appearances this time around, and he’d clearly represent a fine addition for those in the upper echelons of the league.
