Tottenham have relaxed their demands on a Japhet Tanganga exit, though the defender’s rejection of Bournemouth could spark action at Man Utd, per reports.
Tanganga could be on the move this summer with Tottenham making changes in their rearguard. Right wing-back remains the final area they must address after signing Clement Lenglet at left centre-back and Ivan Perisic at left wing-back.
Tanganga has become surplus to requirements and according to Football Italia, is being eyed up by AC Milan.
The Serie A giants have enjoyed great success when signing players from the Premier League in recent times.
Olivier Giroud remains a force up top, while Fikayo Tomori has been a revelation at centre-back.
Football Italia state Tottenham have reeled back from their initial stance of wanting an obligation to buy included in any loan deal.
As such, Spurs may now be willing to accept a loan with an option instead, a development that has been warmly received in Milan.
However, according to other outlets in Italy, Milan aren’t the only club sizing up Tanganga.
Newcastle spoiling AC plans again?
Calciomercato confirm AC’s interest in the 23-year-old and report contact has been resumed with the player’s agents. Spurs’ softened stance is reaffirmed, though it’s stated by TuttoMercatoWeb that Newcastle are also eyeing a move.
The Magpies have already landed Sven Botman this summer who ironically was heavily linked with Milan.
Newcastle could apparently scupper their plans for a second time and are exploring a loan deal, though given their financial muscle, would be willing to include an obligation – not option – to buy.
It’s stated that would be viewed favourably by Tottenham who are seemingly ready to cash in.
The initial Football Italia article stemmed from information relayed by Italian journalist, Daniele Longo.
He also revealed Tanganga was on Bournemouth’s radar, though Tanganga has rejected a move to the Premier League new boys.
Man Utd centre-back targeted
The Cherries must take their search elsewhere with a deal to sign Liverpool’s Nat Phillips also no closer to completion. According to the journalist, their attentions have now turned to Man Utd’s Axel Tuanzebe.
Tuanzebe has regularly been named as one of several stars United have put up for sale this summer.
Erik ten Hag can already call upon Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof in the position, while a move for Lisandro Martinez is still in the works.
As such, Tuanzebe – along with Eric Bailly and Phil Jones – are all understood to be on the market.
Tuanzebe, 24, only has 12 months remaining on his current contract. A deal looks very gettable for the Cherries if they try their luck.
Tuanzebe, Tanganga exits required
Moves for both Tanganga and Tuanzebe would make sense if Spurs and United receive an offer they like.
Neither is likely to feature heavily in the important games this season at their current clubs. Antonio Conte’s back three could give Tanganga chances to shine in the cups, though that is unlikely to satisfy the player.
Tuanzebe, meanwhile, spent last season out on loan across stints at Aston Villa and Napoli.
He featured infrequently at each and looks in need of a fresh start to reignite his career.
