Tanguy Ndombele latest: Intriguing rival to Everton emerges for Tottenham misfit as PSG track freezes

Tanguy Ndombele may struggle to complete his desired move from Tottenham to PSG – but reports claim there are a number of alternative deals in the pipeline.

Ndombele has been heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, which would reunite him with former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino. After never living up to expectations in north London, it seems the right time for a move.

And PSG have been deemed as the ideal takers for the Frenchman. To that end, there have been advanced discussions between the two clubs over a loan with an option to buy.

Tottenham would prefer any clause to be an obligation instead. But now, there are doubts over whether the deal can go through at all.

The Evening Standard have reported that PSG cannot take Ndombele unless they offload one of their current midfielders. That is proving difficult, so there may actually be no space for him.

Not part of the plans at Tottenham, though, Ndombele will be glad to know he has a number of other opportunities.

According to RMC Sport, his other suitors are Bayer Leverkusen, Valencia, and fellow Premier League side Everton.

Tottenham are trying to get a deal done for Sofyan Amrabat this week but need Ndombele to leave the club first which is proving difficult

The Toffees enjoyed a productive start to the January transfer window with the arrivals of Vitaliy Mykolenko, Nathan Patterson and Anwar El Ghazi. But their further plans have been on hold while they have been waiting to appoint a new manager.

Now, they have made an offer to Frank Lampard, who may want signings in his former position – midfield – as and when he takes the job.

Everton have already been linked with one Spurs misfit in that role, Dele Alli, but are also considering Ndombele.

Valencia’s interest from La Liga has been established for a while too. Alternatively, he could take a new route to the Bundesliga with Leverkusen.

Tanguy Ndombele could make Lyon return

But another new solution has emerged for Ndombele, as reported by Telefoot1.

According to their reporter Julien Maynard, Lyon have joined the race for the man they sold to Spurs in 2019.

Maynard claims the Ligue 1 outfit have held talks that lasted a few hours over the possibility of Ndombele returning to them on loan.

The Telefoot journalist has also confirmed the PSG track has frozen due to a lack of space, and that Valencia are one of the alternatives.

But Lyon’s move is more recent and could be in the best interests of all parties.

Details are scarce at present as to the kind of clauses that would be inserted into this deal. But it appears to be another option for Ndombele as the deadline looms.
