Ndombele exit talks accelerate as Tottenham receive concrete approach from ‘perfect fit’
Paris Saint-Germain are in talks to take Tanguy Ndombele on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in a move that would reunite him with Mauricio Pochettino, according to various sources.
Ndombele has fallen out of favour at Tottenham after trying to leave the club in the summer. He has made 16 appearances this season, but is currently training alone. Spurs have not called him up to their two most recent matchday squads.
A January exit looks like the preferable solution for their record signing. However, it has been a challenge for them to find someone willing to pay them a price close to what they invested in him.
There has been some interest from Roma, who could reunite him with ex-Spurs coach Jose Mourinho. But Ndombele’s wages would be an obstacle for the Italian club.
Therefore, it is now emerging that Ndombele could link up with another of his previous Tottenham bosses, Pochettino, instead.
According to The Athletic, PSG are long-term admirers of Ndombele and want to sign him this month. They have not been impressed with Georginio Wijnaldum since signing him on a free transfer from Liverpool in the summer.
The French giants therefore want to sign a new midfielder and have identified Ndombele as a target. They would want any deal to be a loan, though.
PSG and Barcelona want Spurs flop this January

This may also be in Tottenham’s best interests, since they would struggle not to make a significant loss on Ndombele if they sold him now. Waiting in the hope he regains his form elsewhere could see his market value rise by the summer.
A return to Ligue 1 looks to be on the cards for the former Lyon man, who was born 11 miles away from the centre of Paris.
Ndombele keen to join PSG
Ndombele is under contract with Tottenham until 2025, but wants to represent another big club. PSG have the power to attract him and could be a “perfect fit”, The Athletic claim.
Now, they need to convince Tottenham in the transfer talks. According to RMC Sport, they could consider sending one of their own players in the opposite direction, but are struggling to find the right match.
Tottenham were reportedly interested in Leandro Paredes, but the Argentina international prefers to stay in Paris. But he could soon become a teammate of Ndombele’s there.
RMC claim the loan deal could include an option to buy, which if activated would bring an end to Ndombele’s Tottenham spell for good.
The French outlet confirm Pochettino, who was in charge of Tottenham when they signed him, remains a fan of the seven-cap international.
But the deal is not yet done, since talks are hinging on the payment of Ndombele’s salary. Spurs want PSG to take on all his wages rather than subsidising any themselves.
The updates are all verified by Fabrizio Romano, who confirms Ndombele is “keen” to join PSG.
Telefoot1 take it further by stating it would be a dream move for the 25-year-old. They also claim he has already rejected other proposals so he can focus on completing the move.
