Tottenham and Paratici arrive on the scene for Serie A contract rebel – but Prem duo plot offers
Tottenham are planning a swoop for Napoli contract rebel Lorenzo Insigne, according to a report in Italy.
The 30-year-old Italy forward is out of contract next summer, but has been offered fresh terms to stay with the Serie A club. But so far no agreement has been reached and the player is thought to be exploring alternative options.
Calciomercato claim Napoli’s offer is around €5m, plus €1.5m as a bonus, so it is lower than his current €5m-a-season offer.
“It’s not just up to me, marriages take two. I try to be as carefree as possible, my agent talks to the club,” said Insigne after the win over Lazio.
Inter Milan are also keen on signing Insigne on a free transfer. And, per the report, have frequent contacts with agent Vincenzo Pisacane.
Pisacane manages Inisgne and Inter star Danilo D’Ambrosio, but there hasn’t been any real developments from Milan.
Antonio Conte 'keen' on Roma's Nicolo Zaniolo
Tottenham are reportedly keen on sealing a deal for Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo, who’s struggling for game time under former Spurs boss Jose Mourinho, with more news on Matthijs de Ligt, Franck Kessie and Dusan Vlahovic.
Speaking about the player, Inter chief Giuseppe Marotta told DAZN: “It is an opportunity in a general sense, it is up to me and Ausilio to take advantage of it but situations must be grasped if the conditions are right for it.”
But the arrival of Tottenham to the table and Spurs managing director Fabio Paratici may just speed up an outcome.
Newcastle and West Ham are also mentioned in the report, while Everton have been interested previously.
Everton interest in Insigne
Sport Witness, citing reports coming out of Italy, stated recently that Everton have ‘increasingly concrete’ interest in the player.
Everton are willing to pay him €6m per season for three years, in addition to a €7m signing on bonus. This is significantly more than Napoli’s existing offer. Whether Spurs will put up that sort of money for the player remains unclear.
According to Rai Sport, Newcastle are also willing to put a huge offer on the table. But their plan is to try and secure his signature if he becomes a free agent next summer.
