Paper Talk: Surprise deal on as Conte nears game-changing Tottenham signing

Victor Osimhen Stefan De Vrij TEAMtalk

Tottenham are reportedly nearing a deal to sign Stefan de Vrij in a huge deal for Antonio Conte, Jack Wilshere wages at new club AGF are causing shock, while Monday’s papers claim Man City have seen £83m links to a Brazilian put on ice.

Tottenham are reportedly nearing the signing of Stefan de Vrij in what will be a huge deal for Antonio Conte.

The January window proved a difficult month for Spurs and they had to wait until the final hours to make a splash. That’s after they secured the signings of Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus.

However, a recent interview suggested Conte was far from happy at Spurs’ business – an accusation he quickly hit back on.

As such, efforts to further bolster Spurs continue to happen behind the scenes. And reports from Italy, via the Daily Star, claim Spurs are closing on the capture of De Vrij.

The Netherlands defender is rated as one of the best in Serie A and his signing would be a huge coup for Spurs.

Indeed, the Dutchman was a regular starter for Conte in their title-winning squad and excelled under his management.

Inter's De Vrij has been linked with a move to Spurs.

Now InterLive states that he is nearing an agreement to hook back up with Conte this summer.

While there is no fee stated on the reported deal, the arrival of De Vrij could prove a game-changer for Tottenham.

Conte is a manager who likes to build on solid defensive foundations, while sustaining an attacking flair. As such, a partnership of Cristian Romero, De Vrij and Eric Dier at the back appears rock solid.

If you missed the news on Sunday, Jack Wilshere is back in football having signed for Danish club AGF.

The former England midfielder, 30, had been without a club since leaving Bournemouth in the summer.

Wilshere had been training with former club Arsenal as well as Italian side Como to help build up his fitness.

Now, his efforts have been rewarded after signing with Danish side Aarhus Gymnastikforening until the end of the season.

Known simply as AGF, the outfit currently sit seventh in the Danish Superliga. The move was announced via their official website, and their report revealed there is an option for a further 12 months beyond the summer.

According to The Sun, however, Wilshere will not be AGF’s highest-paid player. In fact, the paper states that AGF’s new No 10 will earn just £5,000 a week, with bonuses on top.

Wilshere will hope the move to Denmark can help get his career back on track.

Brazilian sensation Endrick is ready to disappoint a trio of Premier League suitors after a strong declaration to Palmeiras.

The 15-year-old burst onto the scene recently when taking the Copinha by storm. Held in Sao Paolo, the competition is a showcase for players aged under 20. And despite being just 15 and playing against older players, Palmeiras starlet Endrick set the tournament alight.

The teen bagged five goals across three matches in just 90 minutes of combined action.

That has led to claims that Manchester City are leading the charge for a player, who can sign a pro deal when he turns 16.

The likes of Liverpool and Manchester United are also seemingly keen on Endrick too. And interest from the trio is pushing his valuation already into the £83m (€100m) bracket.

However, Endrick claims he plans to stay at Palmeiras “for a long time” because he wants to become a club idol.

And while money talks and could yet convince them to sell, it seems the Prem big hitters may need to wait to land Brazil’s next big thing.
