Tottenham have joined a trio of European clubs chasing the signature of another Brighton star, while Sunday’s Transfer Gossip claims Newcastle have a good chance of signing a highly-rated Inter Milan centre-back.

SPURS JOIN RACE FOR BRIGHTON ACE

Tottenham have reportedly joined the race to sign Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister after the Seagulls’ star’s impressive performances at the World Cup in Qatar.

Argentina are through to the semi-finals after Friday’s ill-tempered win over the Netherlands, as they managed to scrap through on penalties.

The 23-year-old midfielder is currently contracted with The Seagulls until mid-2025.

The Argentine only penned his latest contract in October, securing him for the next two-and-a-half seasons, with the option of an additional one year.

Juventus, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid are all interested in the player, but Fichajes now claims that Spurs have entered the mix.

Inter lead the chase for Seagulls star

However, the report adds that Inter are the favourites to sign Mac Allister as they view the player as a long-term replacement for Marcelo Brozovic.

Juventus have also been scouting several players at the World Cup despite their financial issues, while Atletico boss Diego Simeone is looking to rebuild his side.

As for Tottenham, Mac Allister would bring some much-needed creativity to Antonio Conte’s engine room.

The Spurs chief is well known to want a playmaker in January. Indeed, the likes of James Maddison, Ruslan Malinovskyi and Mohammed Kudus are all targets.

NEWCASTLE IN SKRINIAR RUNNING

Newcastle have a ‘good chance’ of signing Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan, according to Italian outlet Calciomercato.

The Slovakia international is yet to sign a new contract and could leave for free in the summer.

The Magpies have made him one of their top targets and could lure him to England, although Champions League qualification will have to be secured first.

Newcastle currently sit third in the table after a hugely impressive start to the season.

Skriniar has been a long-term target of Tottenham, while Manchester United have also been tipped to move for the player to replace Harry Maguire at Old Trafford.

However, one big stumbling block remains in the shape of French giants PSG.

The report adds that the Ligue 1 side also in the race and that Skriniar could prefer a move to France over England.

CITY EYEING MOVE FOR MILAN FULL-BACK

AC Milan full-back Theo Hernandez continues to attract interest from Manchester City, according to Calciomercato.

The 25-year-old has been a key part of France’s road to the World Cup semif-inals despite a poor showing against England in Les Bleus’ 2-1 quarterfinal win on Saturday.

Hernandez was given the run around by Bukayo Saka and also gave away a penalty for a blatant shove on Mason Mount in the area.

However, his stock has risen during his time in Qatar, prompting interest from City.

Hernandez had previously rebuffed interest from City boss Pep Guardiola, as well as PSG. However, both clubs still have concrete interest in the player.

The left-back has previously stated that he sees his future in only Milan, but his agent has kept communication open with interested parties.
