Transfer gossip: Torino chief London bound to seal £43m centre-back transfer for Tottenham, Chelsea target; Arsenal in talks to sign ‘new Mesut Ozil’

Torino’s sporting director is heading to London in the hope of securing a move for centre-back Gleison Bremer, while Friday’s Transfer Gossip claims Arsenal are closing in on the ‘new Mesut Ozil’.
TORINO CHIEF HOPES TO START BREMER BIDDING WAR
Torino sporting director Davide Vagnati is reportedly heading to London in the hope of starting a bidding war for outstanding centre-back Gleison Bremer.
The Brazilian won the award for Serie A’s best defender last season, an honour taken by Tottenham’s Cristian Romero the previous campaign.
And now Spurs are in the hunt for the next top defender coming out of Serie A. However, they face major rivals in the shape of Chelsea and Arsenal for the 25-year-old.
The report from 90min claims that Torino want £43million for the defender and that club president Urbano Cairo has dispatched Vagnati to England in the hope of opening a bidding war for Bremer.
The London trio are all in the market for a centre-back this summer. However, they all have other options they are currently keen on securing.
London trio chasing separate targets
Spurs are in discussions with Barcelona over a loan move for Clement Lenglet, while Chelsea want Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt. The Gunners, meanwhile, are hoping to swoop for Ajax man Lisandro Martinez.
But all three remain keen on Bremer, who is also a target for Inter Milan. The San Siro outfit want the Torino man to replace Milan Skriniar or Alessandro Bastoni, who have both been linked with Tottenham.
Inter are, however, unwilling to match Bremer’s hefty asking price – leaving the door open for the London trio to strike a deal.
ARSENAL OPEN TALKS FOR TURKISH WONDERKID
Arsenal are reportedly making a move to sign Fenerbahce star Arda Guler, who has been labelled ‘the new Mesut Ozil’ in Turkey.
Mikel Arteta has already completed deals for Matt Turner, Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira, while the arrival of Gabriel Jesus is expected imminently.
Guler, 17, played a total of just 373 minutes for Fenerbahce in his debut season last term. However, his three goals and five assists in that time have drawn admiring glances from across Europe.
He actually played alongside former Gunners playmaker Ozil last season and has been likened to the former Germany international. That is largely due to his slight build and incredible left foot.
Turkish outlet Aksam reports that Guler could be an alternative signing to Raphinha, who looks set to snub both Arsenal and Chelsea and swap Leeds for Barcelona this summer.
And Aksam claims the Gunners have ‘started the transfer process’ for Guler, adding that the teenager ‘is going to the best league in the world’.
Guler is currently valued by Transfermarkt at just £5.4m. However, the reports adds that Fenerbahce are expected to demand at least £25m for a player.
NEWCASTLE TO SNAP UP TOTTENHAM STARLET
Newcastle are set to sign teenage defender Jordan Hackett after his release from Tottenham this summer.
The 18-year-old’s contract expired at Spurs on Thursday and he will not be signing a new deal.
The highly-rated left-back looks set to be snapped up by Eddie Howe’s men on a free transfer.
He had a successful trial at the Magpies prior to making his move permanent, as reported in The Sun.
Hackett featured 11 times for Spurs in the Under-18 Premier League but started less than half of the games last season.
He was one of 12 youth players released by Antonio Conte this summer, as Tottenham look to overhaul their academy.
