Tottenham transfer news: Paratici blitzes Spurs to front of queue for striker with triple January coup on cards

Tottenham are reportedly engineering themselves right to the front of the queue to sign an in-demand striker – with Fabio Paratici seemingly closing in on a January deal to bring the star to north London.

Spurs are gearing up for what they hope will be a huge 2023. Through to the last 16 of the Champions League, coach Antonio Conte is talking up their chances of going deep in the competition. Furthermore, they are nicely placed in fourth in the Premier League, with Saturday’s dramatic win over Leeds giving them a three-point buffer over Manchester United.

In order to keep their season on track, Conte and Paratici are looking to have a big January window. Indeed, their signings of both Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur in the same window last season proved the catalyst for a successful end to the season.

Now Paratici is looking to help land some more signings he hopes will have a similar impact.

As such, the club are reportedly readying two more approaches on Serie A. Indeed, Spurs are reportedly preparing to bring forward plans to sign Weston McKennie from Juventus. The Italian giants are looking to sell and a move to Tottenham – initially slotted for the summer window – could now go through in January.

And the club are also hot on the trail of a new defensive addition, with Conte ready to reunite with one of his trusted former stars. As part of that deal, an erratic Tottenham man will reportedly be offered in the opposite direction.

However, the biggest arrival could occur in their attack.

Tottenham have invested heavily in that area since Conte took charge. And as well as Kulusevski’s arrival, they also splashed out a club-record fee to lure Richarlison to the club from Everton.

Tottenham head race to sign Marcus Thuram

Now, according to reports in Italy, Spurs are muscling their way right towards a deal for Marcus Thuram.

The four-times capped France was first revealed as a Tottenham target on Monday. And with his Borussia Monchengladbach deal expiring on July 1, it’s easy to see why demand is high.

Indeed, as well as Spurs, he’s also reportedly a target for Arsenal, Liverpool and AC Milan. To that end, Fabrizio Romano provided a fascinating update insisting the race for Thuram is open and that the striker will consider all options for a free move this summer.

Per reports on Tuesday, both Inter Milan and Juventus are also now emerging as contenders for his signature.

However, according to Calciomercato, it is Tottenham who lead the chase.

They report that Spurs, led by Paratici, are preparing an offer to bring the striker to north London in January. Gladbach were, initially, thought to be of the mind to keep him until the season finishes.

But Tottenham are reportedly preparing an offer which will tempt the Bundesliga side to do business in the winter window.

There is no mention, though, of what sort of fee Spurs will need to pay. However, the report claims their transfer ‘blitz’ for Thuram is destined to pay off.

Thuram has scored 13 times in 17 appearances so far this season. The son of World Cup winning defender, Lilian, Thuram has the qualities many feel will succeed in the Premier League. Blessed with a fine touch, and an eye for goal, he looks the perfect addition to the Tottenham attack.
