West Ham could sign prolific forward Borja Iglesias with ease for one key reason

West Ham have shown an interest in Real Betis forward Borja Iglesias, and the reason why they could pull a deal off with ease has been revealed.
Iglesias is top of the Hammers’ wish list this summer, as per recent reports. Indeed, they have attempted to sign a striker on multiple occasions over the last few windows.
As yet, they have failed to replace Sebastien Haller, who left in January 2021. That has left Michail Antonio as the only senior striker at the club.
While the Jamaican international has not done badly, West Ham will want another option in front of goal. Antonio was outscored by winger Jarrod Bowen this season and had a couple of dry spells in front of goal.
As such, Iglesias appears a good addition to the side on paper. The Spaniard notched 19 goals in all competitions this season, including four in the Europa League.
He also played a starring role in Betis’ Copa Del Rey triumph. Iglesias scored five goals in eight games in the competition, including three across the semi-finals and the final.
As per a recent report, West Ham could be in a good position to land him easily.
AS reports that Betis ‘need to sell’ before 30th June. What’s more, the report states Betis cannot expect to make much profit, after signing the 29-year-old striker for £25.2million in 2019.
With that being said, the Hammers could pull off an easy transfer.
They surely have the funds to force Betis to sell, as they apparently need to do so anyway.
Iglesias signing would be positive for Hammers
Should West Ham sign Iglesias, it would appear to be a good deal. They should be able to snare him for in the region of £30million.
What’s more, they would finally be adding to their striker ranks. That will be a positive, as it will given them an option other than Antonio, and they will be able to rotate.
What’s more, adding another striker into the mix is sure to up the quality, which should lead to more goals.
West Ham should have another European run coming up this season. Iglesias – who scored four Europa League goals this term – could continue to fire in Europe for the Hammers.
