I think David Moyes will return one day. The two youngsters up front would probably struggle for goals in the Championship. Sigurdsson has been messed about with his transfer. Rooney is getting older, his passes are going awry and he doesn’t have as many shots. Today against Arsenal so far Everton have had one shot on target.

Unlike Fergie who used to criticise the refs to get them on his side when Mourinho criticises the refs he gets the refs against him. What Mourinho has more than Pep and Van Gaal is the press on his side who put Man United in the news every day more than any other club just like in Fergie days. Mourinho is below Pep in the table but receives much less criticism and has a much strengthened team. Look how well Ibrahimovic is playing for him. There will be a battle for the CL until the end of the season and unless Peps team improve and there is room for improvement it will be Mourinhos vast PL experience that will pay dividends.

Robbie Keane is a good partner for Defoe but is unlikely to drop to the bottom of the table.If there was an option for a swap deal between Carroll and Defoe I think both clubs would like to hang on to their players. At least to the end of the season.
