Hey Pax, what’s happening my man?

Sorry it’s taken me so long to respond but after a couple of rainy days here, the sun re-appeared, and the call of the golf course proved irresistible. It’s a tough old life…but hey…someone’s gotta do it Eh? Lol.

“Those bins won’t empty themselves”…nice one my friend, indeed I suspect that several of my neighbours may have retired here to the Costa del Sol and bought their villas on the proceeds of working for the council, collecting refuse. Lol.

Anyway Pax I have to admit to being a bit disappointed to see you back on the old internet posting lark all day again. One wonders just how menial your job must be, given that it appears to make no difference whether you do a stroke of work or not?…Certainly being a bin man wouldn’t allow you such freedom eh?

Seriously though, you know if you treated your posting habit like any other addiction you might get it under control old friend. Perhaps try not to post until mid-day or maybe limit yourself to one post less each day until you get it under control. Or of course you could man up to her indoors, and insist that she let’s you post after work or at the weekends. Explain to her that it’s got to be worth it, if it allows you to develop some sort of ‘work ethic’ to better provide for your family.

Finally my friend, I have to tell you that in my experience sackings and redundancies are closely linked. Sacking someone for being unproductive and lazy at work can be something of a minefield given todays ridiculous employment laws, whereas making a similarly useless individual redundant is far easier. Think about it mate, if you took over a business…this is obviously a hypothetical scenario…and decided that you had to lay off ten people, which workers are you most likely to make ‘redundant’ those who bring value to the business or the bone idol piss taker who thinks he’s working ‘smart’? Truth is whenever redundancies are anounced all employers wangle the system to get shot of the deadwood. They call it ‘streamlining’ and of course, in truth, you know that perfectly well, despite your protestations to the contrary. Indeed it says it all that you claim currently to be employed on a ‘consultancy’ basis. What that actually means my friend is that presumably, by way of the reference you received from the brewery, your new employer decided only to take you on if you are not entitled to sick pay, dont have guaranteed hours, are not entitled to paid holiday and have no employee’s rights in law. That is to say that this time, your new boss has made sure that he can get rid of you without any suggestion of compensation or unfair dismissal. Well done you! You’ve managed to get yourself on zero hours contract…That villa in the sun is beginning to look more and more like a pipe dream old chap.

But you know it doesnt have to be that way Pax. Here’s a couple more quotes designed to try and inspire you to discover some sort of ‘work ethic.’ Come on Pax, if you can’t do the right thing for yourself, then do it for your family me old mucker, surely they deserve that much?

“My dad went to law school at night while working full time.  He has an unparalleled ‘work ethic’ which he passed down to me, and for which I am eternally grateful.” – Brett Kavanaugh

“Our father taught us such a ‘work ethic’ that if there’s something worth doing, it’s worth doing well. It’s what I remember about him the most.” – Donny Osmond

Will your children say the same of you Pax me old chum?

Come on its not too late champ. Make your kids proud. We’re all rooting for you!

    All the best old friend.

Working smart, Paxo old chum, does not generally result in getting sacked…unless your definition of ‘smart’ differs dramatically from that of the rest of us I guess.

“I’m proud of my hard work. Working hard won’t always lead directly to the exact things we desire. There are many things I’ve wanted, that I haven’t always gotten. But, I have a great satisfaction in the blessings from my mother and father, who instilled a great ‘work ethic’ in me both personally and professionally” – Tamron Hall.

One wonders Pax, how you’re gonna feel when your own kids reflect on the legacy of their father, as that of a work shy waster, as they surely will unless you begin to set a worthwhile example for them.

The key phrase in all these quotes I’m trying to inspire you with Paxo my old mucker is ‘work ethic.’ Another half a dozen posts again today…cheating your boss. Perhaps it’s time you acknowledged the problem mate.

The clock is ticking old friend…but it’s still not too late…

Pax me old mucker, I trust you and yours are all well?

    Know you like your golf and spotted this quote from Tiger Woods the other day;

“People don’t understand that when I grew up, I wasn’t the most talented. I wasn’t the biggest. I was never the fastest. I certainly was never the strongest. The only thing I had was my ‘work ethic,’ and that’s been what’s gotten me this far”

Draw comfort from that mate. You may not be the smartest, you may not be the most popular, you may currently have a menial and unrewarding job but like Tiger, if you can just develop some sort of ‘work ethic’ you could go on to become anything you want.

Come on Champ…just do it. I believe in you!

Sorry for the delay in responding to your latest post Pax but you know how it is…lunch on the beach…sardines cooked on a spit over a log fire…followed by a long walk along the shoreline, and then back to the villa for a little dip in the pool, and an afternoon chilling in the sunshine.

You know Pax, you’re lucky enough to live in a country of unlimited opportunity. A country where anyone, from any background, can make a success of their lives. Where someone from humble beginnings can rise to the top. Worked for me mate, and it can work for you too.

All you need is a strong ‘work ethic.’ The ability to get your nut down and graft. If not for yourself then for your family. To give your kids a better life than you’ve had.

Don’t you think you might be better advised spending your days concentrating on becoming a worthwhile employee at your latest place of work, rather than endlessly posting on this board? Why repeat the mistakes that led to your recent dismissal from the brewery? Think about it old friend, if you can’t do it for yourself, then do it for your family.

“At the end of the day, you are solely responsible for your success and your failure. And the sooner you realize that, you accept that, and integrate that into your ‘work ethic’, you will start being successful. As long as you blame others for the reason you aren’t where you want to be, you will always be a failure.” – Erin Cummings.

Come on Champ…I know you can do it…I’ll reserve your spot on the beach…lol

Hey Pax me old mucker, good to hear from you.

Jeez this old Brexit thing is turning out to be a bit of a disaster eh? Just like you predicted. First you get the bullet when your brewery gets taken over…as a direct of Brexit, and now I’m in big trouble facing life without a pension.

I really don’t know how I’m gonna make ends meet Pax. Hell fire what’s a pension worth these days…150 quid a week? Call it 85 after tax eh? Fuck me that’s 170 sovs when you include the missus. Have to admit that causes a big problem for us stuck out here in darkest Spain. Maybe the kids will sub us for a few bob, or perhaps I can get a part time job, behind a bar somewhere. Perhaps downsize the villa, and cut right down on expenses. I really don’t know what to do…Maybe I’ll just sell the wife’s Ferrari…

    All the best my friend.

You know Lenny we should perhaps cut Paxo a little slack here. It’s easy for us to drift on and off this forum for a day or two, have a laugh, take the piss out of a few numpties and then revert back to real life. That’s clearly not the case for Pax. Ridiculous as it sounds, this is a guy who as you rightly say has already got the chop from his previous job for spending all day every day on this board, and yet has so little of any value in his real life that he is quite happy to risk the well being of his wife and kids to continue to live his life vicariously through on an internet football forum…his kids must be so proud of him.

And he’s not alone by any means. The day before yesterday the drunk posted twenty six comments on the board in a fifteen hour shift. A post every thirty five minutes from when he got up to when he collapsed back into bed…presumably in his usual drunken stuper. Jeez can you imagine! What a life? That’s more than either you or I posted in the last month…and I was boring myself to death with what I thought was way too much time spent here!

Truth is the poor sods are to be pitied rather than ridiculed, and to that end I’m gonna try to engage them in a much more benign fashion in the future, offer them the olive branch if you will. Turn a blind eye to there ridiculous libtard agenda and try to, as it were ’embrace’ them. Show them the love…Fuck me I’m beginning to sound like a snowflake! Be a laugh though eh?

Finally Lenny I’ll take your advice to sort out a copy of ‘Bad Love’ and have a listen. If it’s anywhere near the quality of Cohen and Dylan I’ll be delighted.

Hey Lenny, I see you’ve been entertained by the drunk whilst I’ve been out and about.

You will have seen on the original thread that the twats only concern was whether or not the baker would have to bake a cake for the plaintiff if he lost his case in the Supreme court.

Seems no one has answered that vital question…seems no one gives a fuck…

How you doin’ Lenny? Good to hear from you. I thought you might have finally deserted this sinking ship for good.

Following my thread from afar is about as much good to me as a one legged man in an arse kicking contest mate. You’re supposed to get involved!

Regarding Randy Newman, I have to say that outside of ‘Short People’ and a couple of other songs, I know very little of his work, although as you know I am a big Dylan and Cohen fan…not entirely sure how Cohen fits into your American trilogy given that he’s Canadian! Sorry ‘was’ Canadian.

Anyway don’t be a stranger to the board my friend.

Gassy are you being deliberately obtuse?

Yesterday; “What right minded person is saying that calling a person black is an insult”…”I’ll leave bloggy to his happy realisation that something nobody thought was racist in the first place isn’t racist”

Today; “Maybe Harry’s aunt was sacked for calling someone black because she was on zero hours contract, or she didn’t know her rights”

So yesterday your claim was that no one thought that calling a person black was either insulting or racist, and today you think that Harry’s aunt was sacked because someone thought that calling a person black is insulting and racist.

These are two mutually exclusive propositions.

Gassy – Pleased to see that you’re now conceding that she could in fact have been dismissed for her ‘black Mohammed’ comment, as Harry claims, if she didn’t know her rights or if she was on zero hours contract.

Well Harry it turns out either you or your Aunt…or possibly both…are lying about the incident. In fact, according to Gassy, she called him…at the very least…’Black bastard Mohammed’ and after all Gassy would know because “over the years, he’s proved people have had their hand in the till, proven work place bulying and witnessed genuine racism,” and yet has never been able to sack any of the offenders on the spot.

Well that’s that then. Your Aunt couldn’t have been dismissed as you claim and must therefore be lying…unless of course Gassy is full of shit, has never been a position of authority at work, and would rather accuse you and your family of lying, than concede that simply calling a black person black, can in fact be construed as racial abuse and discriminatory behaviour, in today’s England.

Harry – I’m sorry to hear about your Aunt.

What you’ve described is exactly what I’ve been rattling on about for most of the day. Your Aunt’s experience is by no means unique. Whatever certain uninformed idiots on this page believe, there are those in authority who have interpreted the current guidelines on racial abuse and descrimination to include the word ‘black’ when describing a black person to be derogatory.

This, it appears from what you say, to be the case with your Aunt. Clearly she suffered greatly given that her career was destroyed, but the case also perfectly illustrates what I say about the black community being damaged by such misguided interference from the authorities. It reinforces the perception that the word ‘black’ even when used quite properly to factually describe a black guy is considered by some in authority to constitute racial abuse, which is both insulting, patronising and ultimately damaging to the black community.

A quick read through the citizens advice Web page on what exactly constitutes hate incidents and hate crimes is quite revealing.

As you say my friend…”Fucking Madness”…

Well you drunken twat, it appears that Harry has an example of calling someone black being deemed to be insulting enough to get you the sack. You know generally when you know fuck all about a subject it’s quite a good idea to just keep your trap shut.

Now let’s get back to the one burning issue this thread has thrown up for you.

“Would the guy who ordered the cake have received financial compensation or would the baker have had to make his cake if theSupreme court case decision gone the other way”…God save us from the mentally challenged.

You know Lucky, I’m really struggling here to get my point across.

I’m not defending the guy for stating a fact…the woman was indeed black. What I’m trying to explain is that I don’t think simply calling a black person, black should be perceived as abuse for the sake of the black person, under any circumstance. That’s racism. It implies that being white makes you automatically better than being black. That being called white is a good thing whilst being called black is an insult. That the fact that someone calls you black has derogatory inferences that don’t apply to a white person. That there is somehow an automatic inferred insult simply by way of your skin colour.

To that end I believe that the cause of black people is done a dis-service by anti racist laws that suggest that calling a black person black is in anyway an insult.

I’ll tell you what mate, I’ll think twice before I jump to the defence of a minority group again!

Lucky – I’m glad you don’t think my post is racist. It was intended simply to suggest that the laws on racism are not necessarily working as they stand. I certainly didn’t intend to suggest that the guy abusing the woman on Ryanair was in anyway justified, neither did I defend his actions or claim he wasnt a racist, and I think if you re-read my post you will struggle to find any such indication. If you do, please flag it up and I’ll try to explain. Hell fire…I’m beginning to sound like that prick Paxo!

What I was suggesting, albeit, as it turns out, rather clumsily, is that in order to discourage racism it is not necessarily a good idea to make a factual statement an insult. Calling a black person, black should not in my opinion be perceived, under any circumstance as an insult. To do so is demeaning to the very people we are trying to protect.

However, whilst I understand your view that the colour of a person’s skin is not something that should come up under normal circumstance…unless it’s Steve behind the wheel of his car…and as such must automatically have racist tendencies, I just happen to disagree.

    Cheers
