I got totally pied out with this shadow of its former self in the last days of August but if Richard and Kingo are here I will, ss the old testament says gird up my loins and continue.

So Wycombe came to play us at football and not park any buses. Their two goals were top draw and when Wood hit the err Woodwork they should have been 2 up. But this season we don’t do a Morcambe we play and attack (that’s the difference) and ran out worthy winners.

Pompey not only have grit and players who want to put their bodies on the line (apart from Michael Smith) for the moment but flair, Naismith, Conor and a decent keeper. For now this ship seems in good hands with a winning crew, roll on Accy 3 points would be a promotion marker IMHO at this early stage.

BTW Ana and I will be over from Italy for the Notts County game if you guys fancy a pint.

To be honest Ben Davies was gettig a bit leggy in the second half of the season and from what i understand he wanted to move back north to be near wife’s family, You can get some good interviews on the Pompey Player of the new entrants.

I am banging on for a new keeper the lad from Northern Ireland will do fine I believe he is a free agent, and a centre forward with height and muscle necessary for League 2. Paul Cook has said the same so fingers crossed that we get a couple of good signings.

Looking forwward to the coming season. Angry how some weirdoes hijacked support for British Soldiers killed in the Somme disaster on fansonline, but just shows the alledged minority who hang out there.

    Keep posting

We were watching the game on the internet last night and my Italian friends were left scratching their heads at the “hands off cards” ref. How the penalty could be given with no red card amazed us.

Particularly in the second half we looked the better team and for once playing away leaves me with no fear. This doesn’t mean I am taking winning for granted but rather the pressure will be on Plymouth to get a result at home and that couldn’t be better 3-2 to Pompey prediction after extra time

Hi Richard I have just listened to Pompey getting the (rare) 1-0 victory and 3 of the other 4 dropping points our future is clearly in out hands.

So 5 points behind the automatics and a game in hand Pompey are more than masters of our own destiny, now the game against Plymouth is a real 6 pointer where we could take one of adversaries out.

I think not having to play Wimbledon on a puddle pitch was divine intervention. Play up Pompey.

Great result Richard but Notts County are a team in really bad form.

I took a qucik look at the fixtures and we need all three to slip up and we will need to break a Pompey Record 8 wins on the trot (previous 7)

Plymouth can lose at Exeter and Pompey dropping 6 points.

Bristol Rovers can lose to Northampton away and draw at Yeovil so dropping 5 points.

Accy could lose away at Wycombe and Luton dropping 6 points.

We need to win every remaining game including Wimbledon away and Northampton + Plymouth a big ask in my opinion but we have to keep dreaming at least we have the best goal difference.

    Play up Pompey

Catch up after the dreaded Wimbledon and a happy Easter to all 4 of us !!

Maybe Kingo the lads had a bit of a good night out too many. The Newport manager took his team out for crazy golf and other “fun things” before the Pompey game after getting pasted by Barnet, maybe he said just go out and stuff them like we taffs normally do. Remember our record against them is awful (our lot forgot that). Our lads looked like they were playing the day after the night before, things were going wrong all over the park. Even Ben Davies could not lift the ball from spot kicks over around past the first defender.

Don’t know what it was but when I play tennis on Sunday morning after a good night session here in Italy I see my performance is like what we saw on Saturday. Anyway Mansfield, Notts County and then the dreaded wombles, another chance to put the train on the tracks againbut time is running out, so I suggest no more night’s out lads if that is what happened. I’m struggling to explain the performance after Accy unless my ideas hold some water or similar.

Spot on Kingo, I did some quick check and found we shead 2 points on each game after 90 minutes, Carlisle, Stevenage, Morcambe and Exeter 8 points blown we could have had 62 tonight.

Needs sorting urgently we need to look at necessary fitness to play our game style and still have energy to finish teams off coz it ain’t working right now, could have been the same with Cambrige if we didn’t get the second goal too.

Welcome back FFF, yes getting to this place is like breaking back into Colditz, and you would ask why bother?

Well considering the alternatives it is a better place Richard, Kingo and I am here, not much I will grant you, but compared with some other forums full of Skates, Scum, Bedwetters, Trolls and child mol*** according to the posters this is a good place where we can get on to some serious debate, so very welcome return and if some of our previous posters who you might know need to be informed get them back here ASAP, so we can chew over all things interesting and controversial at PFC.

Kyle Bennett, an enigma, a talent with his feet butnot yet got a developed football brain on his shoulders IMO, more talent than Nuge but still needs training to make the right pass/move/ shoot decision, but his shot hat got Webster’s goal was a peach.

Let’ get back to debate and arguement after Exeter, see you soon.

You got it right Richard, it was a fine advert for Portsmouth and the type of football Paul Cook is serving up and we are enjoying this season. Sadly the run is over but the build up to and execution of gary Robert’s goal was exquistite.

I knew on 61 minutes our time had come we were being forced back and Howe’s smart substitutions sunk the brave ship Pompey. Now we have to get back to the main job and push on for promotion

Kingo you may be right. Seeing the highlights of the game it was clear this game was different from previous games at Fratton. First Oxford played the possesion game better than us, we were surprised as no one has done that here, in fact their tactics were spot on, knowing that without enormous amountsof posession our possession to shots on goal ratio would be strangled and it worked 1 shot if i am not mistaken.

They were the best team to come to Fratton and I have to agree with you that short of a 3 game minimum slip up by two of the top 4 we are play offs bound for sure. So I guess you are right we are still sneaking a peek round the corner.

It was awesome Richard, totally mad Pompey follwing as normal, the only critism was that we conceded the late goal. Much blame flack has been fired at Murphy but he had a great game overall and so we have to let this one go. If we consider Jones gaffs last season and so on he needs our support and will get better. Until Cook pursuades Buffon or Butland to sign for us this is as good as it gets.

Next up Accy, can’t get there or the bosses in Berlin will ask vhere are you? So will be listening to the Pompey player and hope we get a decent result. PUP

Hey Richard thanks for a fine pint of Mrs Miggins at Pickwicks, last time the Italian chapter of PFC came over it was 1-1 with Mansfield and miserable fare honestly. This is a new Portsmouth and entertaining, imaginative and just great football.

When the total dominance of the first half faded to allow them to get back into the game the breaking and entering of Tollit and Roberts was just awesome even if we needed Admiralty issued binoculars to see it (joking) .

So now up to Ipswich in the Cup, i will be there we will probably be snuffed as they are a good team, but just, just that is where it all began on a cold Saturday in 2008 when Nuge stunned us and scored a goal, the rest as they say is history.

Just popping up from the last floor down in the engine room. It is true TT have really screwed up in my opinion, I see on Alexa that ranks site traffic popularity etc shows a catestrophic fall, why?

    1) 72 teams from Champs to League 2 lose their pages and chat capabilities
    2) No interst in anything apart from the Prem, not even Champions League, Europa FA Cup, League cup ar covered except a scant reference or post. ESPN is better than Teamtalk.
    3) most of the content is rumour mill stuff off the back pages and totally useless.

In summary there are probably good reasons why TT has opted out of being a serious content contributor but when it is gone we will remember what it was like in the golden days, I give TT to the end of the season before they fold they can blame the BBC, club websites with payable pay per view content and ESPN or whoever.

If I were in charge of TT I would give the company a complete makeover and make it profitable, it is possible for TT to do something other than die.

Yes Kingo I saw that one, but on reflection without appauling refereeing decisions what else would we have to grumble about over our post match pint. The Serbian ref of Man U getting spanked by Wolfsberg tonight would be a lesson on how it is done to many English referees at all levels in our game.

Tractor boys away in the cup, looks hard, maybe not so, and if we lose bravely there will be no moaning. Strange the road to winning the cup pack in 2008 started for Pompey at Portman Road, we shall see.

All the round pegs fitted the round holes, this is a Battle of Midway momentwhen Pompey opened a broadside with courage and conviction there were medals for talent, passing, socring and confidence to be handed out to all the players.

The Carlisle manager warned that this coming storm would strike and for hapless York City it blasted onto their heads, cannon fodder and we’re loving it. PUP PPU

Yes Richard, actually watched the game in departures in Berlin heading back to Milan, and to say it was unimpressive was an understatement. Some fellow tourists came to have a look and rapidly moved on very unimpressed

We have the majority of possession but can’t even get to shoot on target or even shoot, it is worrying indeed.

Kingo game on, only there is the little problem of Accy standing in our way. That said it would be a big place marker if we can actually beat them on our home turf and definite step forward considering Awfs and Cook have failed to do this so far.

If the team need a pick me up the back passage this game is it. I am getting tired of my neighbour Ennio a Liverpool fan giong on and on about where are you and having avoided the menacing Eastleigh and dangerous Chesham i feel a game agaoinst puddle as we move closer to Wembeley could be on. Good to have you back.
