Some youngsters u have to give a chance too, most that get loaned out dont come back so we cant get rid of them all. Solanke seems like a good lad, he doesnt appear to be lazy and has good movement. I think the goals will come for him now that he got his first one. He wont get 20 a season this year but given a chance he might get there in a year or 2.

Id rather have him as a backup than a group of other players that also dont score but are usually injured (Sturridge and Ings). We wont get a 100m player who will sit on the bench and only get a few minutes here or there.

Give him a chance and I think he will come good.

I would keep Solanke in the squad this season. I think he can make the cut. Of all the youngsters we have I think he is the one that can make it. He is still young and last season was he first chance to get any games so I think he did quiet well. Hopefully he does even better this season.

I couldn’t care less how much he costs, its about time we started paying large money for all players and stop bargain bin shopping. Klopp has a good record in picking players (excluding Karius) so its money well spent when they are the right decision.

Also, if he lasts 10 years it comes in at 6m a year which is great value plus he will have a resale value when he eventually leaves. Plenty of ‘ifs’ can be put out there but lets just enjoy getting a high value player that is wanted by other big clubs (if the papers are to be believed) and he wants to come to us.

I’d take anyone right now…. but what I am noticing is that players are not straight out turning us down. We are linked with big names and they seem interesting in the move. Getting to the CL final has a great knock on effect.

Ginger if you are referring to me then you are not correct. I am prepared to give players a long period of time to prove them but for Karius I think he has had his time to prove his worth.

I don’t think he is terrible but I don’t think he is good enough. Its not black and white with me but I dont see him making the world class saves and he has errors in him. We need top quality in goal and he isnt it (in my opinion).

Our defense has been a lot more solid which has relieved the pressure on him but I dont see him being the reason our defensive record improved.

I dont think ALL stats are misleading but for example the stat from Kopite.

‘Karius has had zero errors that led to goals’ – so on that basis he should be one of the top keepers in the world. So if we ask 100m for him how many clubs will be biting our hand off to buy him?

At the moment we would be lucky if someone took him on loan. Stats are one thing but perception is another. In my perception he isnt a top keeper and we should look to upgrade.

I think this is the beginning of the end for Lallana. I don’t think he will move on this summer but I don’t think he will get the amount of football he wants next season. A season of injuries lets other players get ahead of you and its difficult for him to get back ahead of them, especially when he still isnt fully fit. Not bashing him, I like him when he is on top form but we shouldn’t be afraid to move players on. Lallana and Sturridge will be on the way soon I reckon.

Kopite I know the defensive record is very high since the Spurs game as you point out. However you don’t always need stats to prove if someone is top quality or not. Not every mistake they make leads to a goal. I still dont have a good impression of Karius or Lovren no matter what the stats say. They have mistakes in them and its something we need less of, we need stronger players in this position.

Im not excited by Shaqiri to be honest. We all know he is a good player but he seems to be very inconsistent. Maybe Klopp would get the best out him but at the moment I would rather a fresh face from other leagues. We seem to fall back on some of the PLs average players too often.

Karius isnt good enough, simple as that. We need a top keeper and a top partner for VVD. They are the 2 weak links in the team and until we upgrade them then we will be prone to more errors than we should have.

Losing the final that way was the worse kind of defeat. Self inflicted by players who we all know are not the highest standard that we need.

It has to be a keeper. If we had a solid keeper we would have a lot more confidence in the back line as a result. You only have to look at De Gea at Utd to see how much difference a top keeper makes season after season.

I don’t think the reason for this style of play is that football has changed etc. I think Mourinho has changed. The first half of his management career u would never say he was boring and playing defensive football. He seems to have changed his style and become more defensive.

Its hard to blame the players because he is buying some of the best attacking players available but not playing them in an attacking system.

This habit of slating the players in interviews is also new since his second stint at Chelsea (maybe he had it at Real but I didn’t watch them). I think he has just lost his mojo and hasn’t got the passion to be a top manager. He is just trying to keep his name strong in the football world.

I’m not a fan of bashing players because they plan on leaving us. Can has had a very good season up until his injury and he was one of the first choice midfields. I don’t think he would have been on the bench next season, I think he would edge out Milner and in a lot of games he would probably push out Hendo or Ox aswell.

It sucks when players run down their contracts but thats what they are entitled to do. The club would cut players loose if they could get the chanc. This is just one of those cases where Can has had his time with us and clearly wants to try something different.

Maybe its for money, maybe its an easier league, maybe he wants a chance of trophies in a league where there is less competition. Either way, in about 6 months he will be forgotten and the club goes on.

Hopefully this is the first Champions league final of may to come in the next few years.

I really want to win it but I hope I enjoy it no matter what happens and if we lose then its not cos of some stupid mistake but we were beaten by a better team. Fingers crossed we play to our potential and come away with the win.

I think people are being very harsh on TAA. He does have the odd mistake in him but I think that is down to his age. For such a young player I think he is excellent. I dont see him as a player that has a mistake in him all the time.

There is a big difference between a player that makes a mistake sometimes and a player that has a mistake in him regularly. For me, Lovren is a player that has a mistake in him all the time and its just a matter of time before he floors a player in the box for no reason.

It is not a case of slating players if you say they are not good enough. I don’t slate players at this club but it is a very valid point to say that our bench quality is far away from our starting 11 quality. We definitely have to improve the quality outside of our starting 11, its very hard to deny that.

Just play the strongest team we have and win the game. Now is not the time to be taking risks. There is plenty of time to rest after the game
