i think TS should get more time, the new men need more time also , to adjust to the prem .

gana , gestede aywe are showing signs of improvement .

it would be very unfair to sack him now especially as the new players were probably not chosen by him .

even if we stop giving gift goals away , its hard to see where our goals will come from. if we spend on a striker in january we may still not catch up.

the lack of goals is putting more pressure on the defence.

with delph and cleverley we were able to play the short quick passing game, but not now .

sherwood has to adapt his tactics to the reality of the players we have , starting with a rock solid defence.

i was at the game .

until the goal we were as good – or bad – as they were.

the goal was another classic giveaway with both guzan and lescott culpable.

but these pretty tactics are causing grief and its not working.

    guzan had little to do.

    hutton and gana did well.

gestede won most of his headers and is improving .

gill grealish ayew inneffective – tactics ??

westwood gave the ball away too much – prefer sanchez.

    lescott unconvincing – prefer clark.

traore won several corners but lacks adhesion.

i will say there were some aweful discraceful vill fans there – many just going for the conflict with opposing fans – dreadful .

we are lacking a front man who can change the game – for all his shortcomings agbon must play .

i think we were outplayed by palace, westbrom and liverpool.

of those only palace are doing well.

my mistake , big sam has gone to sunderland .

it seems , as i thought sherwood had many of the new men foisted on him , he didnt get his own choices , he got the director of football’s choices.

if he is sacked , he has had some very valuable experience which would stand him in good stead for his next job.

i think he will do well .

there is a story that sherwood has two more games to get a win , otherwise he is out .
hope its not true , rather have him than rodgers , although big sam could do an interim job until the club is sold .

agree on ayew getting more pitch time , we badly need more options up front .

agree also on sanchez over westwood .

i must admit there are some pros to the absence of thumbs up/down – people will have to post ..

still very disappointingly few old posters showing up on the aston villa blog .

i think he should stay on and show what he can do .

i suspect the players brought in were not all his choice by any means , like liverpool there is a transfer committee .

there may be some quality there which may need more time to show.

we are not actually playing as badly as our league position indicates .

    achillesgil

so we havnt been thrashed yet !!!

i have a ticket for the chelsea game , chelsea badly need a result .

we have the knack of providing that – eg anyone who hasnt scored for 5 years scores.

anyone who’s been in trouble (berahino) scores .

    and many more ….

ps. i miss the thumbs up/down buttons

TS is a new and inexperienced manager on a steep learning curve .

he has created a virtually new team .

some of the new men show promise .

    we are lightweight on strikers.

we are in for a long struggle again , the objective must be to survive and develop.

its too early to judge TS or the new players .

we will know more after xmas . ( ive been saying that since MON left).

we looked far better when grealish and especially gill came on , why on the bench ?

however butland was hardly tested .

    hutton very good .

    final balls just no good.

cant see many goals in this front line , the goals we have scored have been specials , and cant be kept up .

their goal was so easy our centre defence has to be questioned .

my previous incarnations were anotherdavid and bornagainvillaman .

i think the new format is better in some ways – ie its instant .

hope to see many more good old and new posters on here, and that balanced views are accommodated.
