If Gomez recovers well and Sakho getting just 6 months, it would be sensible to keep Toure one more season. No point signing a new CB which would diminish Gomez chances.
It’s prudent in the sense that FSG sets so and so amount for transfers but the problem is that we have been constantly overpaying for players. Apart from Coutinho, Can and Sturridge, I don’t see anyone that we could make a profit from (not that I want us to sell our best players)
Football Scouser makes a good point about changing the composition of the transfer commitee.
Notorious: It’s the transfer commitee’s that Sakho decided to take a diet pill containing a banned substance. LOL.
ST: I suppose it’s FSG’s fault that Sanchez or Costa did not fancy a move to Liverpool? Yes, blame them for the appointment of BR or for the transfer committee but accusing them of lack of spending?
ST: In case you didn’t, the TOP 3 of this season has spent less than us so money isn’t the problem is it? And even if a new owner comes in and decides to spend, there’s so much he’d be able to do due to FFP.
Cm: Did you know where was Dortmund before Klopp took over?
Europhobia: of course there would be outrage if BR finished 8th coz most of the players were his signings. You can see the difference there can you?
Klopp doesn’t need to finish better than BR’s runners up (though I hope he does) to be a better manager. His record speaks for itself.
Tomk: How many trophies has BR won?
Low net spend? You haven’t a clue.
Aussie: You’re not the only one, will be watching the game at about 3am.
May 13, 2016 at 4:23 pm in reply to: Quique Sanchez Flores to leave Watford at the end of the season #1014206999: Exactly, Watford were probably one of the contenders for relegation pre-season yet he brought them to respectable position. Did the owners expect him to compete for TOP 4?
Bloggy: Personally I think it’s fan’s blind loyalty/bias rather than morally bankrupt. If an opposition player something morally wrong, we’d be up in arms but we’d turn a blind eye when our own player does it.
Liverlad: Don’t think many doubt Mig’s shot- stopping ability but rather the other aspects of his game. Very dodgy with crosses and his distribution isn’t that great.
Garydos: Personally I think you are doing Leicester a disfavour. Yes they did not have the distraction of Euro Football but look at the cost of their compared to the cost of the previous winners. It cost less than Torres fee to Chelsea. As for our underachievement, personally I blame on the owners lack of attention on revenue. Only in the FSG has it improved but unfortunately the money so far has been spent on duds.
If Davinci rates Rafa as average, and Rafa rates Tiote whom Davinvi rates, where do we rate Davinci? ? Peace.
Davinci: Have you read the title of the thread? It’s whether Benitez is an average or not, it’s not whether Rafa wins league titles or not. Average managers don’t win trophies regularly especially with 2nd tier clubs as you’ve claimed. Average managers don’t get the Honour of being UEFA of the year 2 in the a roll . You talk about Rafa wasting money during H&G regime but didn’t you know 2 of the our biggest 3 sales came under this regime. You say I’m deluded perhaps you should look in the mirror.
As big a European game as any given that winning Euro gives us CL.
Well said Sean, justice will never be Fully done until those responsible are held accountable for their actions. Making a decision that caused the lives of 96 was one thing but covering it with and blaming the innocent is a totally different ball game altogether.
