Indeed Mak, majority have said we need a mid so no clue why Pinez is taking the all exclusive, it was only me stand. There’s reams of threads out there with most of us preferring we’d get another (more durable and dynamic) mid.

Must be strong stuff in that roll-up of his.

Bingo, confused as to who is disrespecting Bobby’s legacy and considering him a flop? Checked this thread and NO-ONE IS.

JC, yes, you’re right on the stats:

17/18 Mo Scored 32 goals and had 10 assists
18/19 Mo Scored 22 goals and had 8 assists

I do have a question though Bingo. For an attacking ‘mid’ as you describe Bobby would you not have expected him to maybe have more assists? Certainly more than Mo?

As for creating space, pressures etc. both Mo and Bobby have comparable ‘touches of the ball’ for those two seasons and also passing completions (75%), Bobby made more tackles and had more presses (completely expected for a central role) but they both play different roles so how can we compare when we are not comparing apples to apples? Each role on the team differs.

Bobby has been a terrific servant and on his day he’s a pleasure to watch (he was in Paris when he came on for the last 13 mins – btw, why didn’t he start this big game if he is the best player on the planet at creating space/pressures/off the ball work – you’d have expected him to start then in the CL Final?).

Fact remains that despite Bobby still being class his numbers have dwindled across the board by 25% for the past four seasons. I will bet he’s not with us this time next year (maybe even sooner). Every good thing comes to an end.

Liverpool, I believe, were once interested in Rabiot but were red flagged as to his temperament and lack of professionalism.

    Like for like for Pogba!

    Bingo, WHAT?

Do you just decide, randomly, to either fabricate or just run with it without knowing the actual stats?

    Mo’s first season was 2017/18.

Here are his Premier League stats for the first two seasons before ‘his third.’

    17/18 Scored 22 goals, 8 assists (38 games)
    18/19 Scored 19 goals, 10 assists (38 games)

Here’s Bobby’s for those two seasons:

    17/18 Scored 15 goals, 7 assists (37 games)
    18/19 Scored 12 goals, 6 assists (34 games)

What on earth are you talking about lad when you say that Mo didn’t start to compete with him until his third season/produce the numbers that Bobby always did? PLEASE EXPLAIN FFS WITH ZERO GASLIGHTING.

BTW, not even included Mo’s non-Premier League stats either. I won’t embarrass you further putting those in.

I still haven’t forgotten about Mane’s effin African family roots in Austria btw.

As for Trent, well, he won’t be played in mid so he’s gonna be our right back. The plusses outweigh the negatives with him so he’s a starter there.

Pinez, I think we all knew as soon as we saw Thiago hold the back of his leg yesterday that he would be done for some time. No surprise and no shock whatsoever. A chronic history of injuries at Bayern and now here. We knew this when he signed. A tragedy because he’s some talent.

We have to start building our mid around reliability and for the future. Keita, Ox, Henderson, Fab and Thiago all pick up frequent injuries. Jones has had his fair share too over the last 12-18 months. Always around 50% midfield capacity. Not good enough.

We need to sign another mid.

Indeed Mikus, Haaland was born to smash goals in. He did it prolifically at Dortmund and he’ll do it over here too.

More chance of me being played in Liverpool’s central mid than Trent. Keep him where he is. He’s just got to fix his defensive issues.

    Element of truth in this.

    https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/frank-leboeuf-trent-alexander-arnold-24693272

Mitrovic is strong but when strength gets the better of you, you disrupt, and Trent didn’t do that.

I wouldn’t blame Trent entirely on this, that would be ridiculous, as Robbo didn’t stop the cross but we simply have to do better in these moments. We allow too many dangerous balls in the box by either not closing down, not getting goal side and simply not being aggressive enough in the 1v1.

PS. Eds, why the f*** am I putting ‘-‘ in to ensure the paras are not stuck together? A simple bloody fix. Get off social media, stop mktg for a sec and get someone on it or I’ll have to pay a visit when I’m over at Chrimbo!

Mikus, yes on Keita, but we didn’t waste money on Fabinho. On his day he’s a beast but I could have run faster than him yesterday in high heels. Shocking how slow he was. I know much about the #6 role is positioning but there’s times you need to step on gas and when he did he looked like a clapped out Morris Minor. I know it’s early doors but he’s clearly not ready and we’ve had pre-season! If he’s not ready play Bajcetic, he’s ready, which takes me back to my post earlier, I think we went into the game a little too arrogant and got a good ol’ hobnailed boot to the bollocks.

    Good!

Reds, nothing else, I believe we strolled into W. London believing we could take the piss and it backfired, which I’m OK about. Kick in the bollocks and a wake up call.

Just seen an obscene report over here that Barca have yet to register Lewandowski, Raphina and Dembele with La Liga and have been advised to register a fourth economic lever to get this done.

Barca have only a billion smackers in gross debt.

What an effing mess. Let’s be thankful folks of where WE are at, fiscally.

Less he did go down easily but we didn’t properly defend against him and when you don’t execute the basics of 1v1 you’re risking situations such as what we saw earlier.

Liverpool next play Villa behind closed doors at Anfield tomorrow. A good run out for the rest of the squad and U23’s to get a piece of the action.

I honestly think we will go ahead and sign another mid now. We brought in Kabak and Davies when we got hit along with backline; why should mid be any different?
