It is a great draw as they are big games which we all love. I wanted a big team and did not want City. My fear was getting a non favourite like dortmond and then being knocked out by them. Yea the past is totally irrelevant we are not the same team and nor are they. There is nothing we can do about our lack of European experience from our team or our Manager. This is a massive test for Arteta and a really hard job to rotate at the right time. He has no real experience with this many options and I am sure he will get things wrong or players play shit and won’t take there chances, we will need some luck along the way. Bayern are great going forward but not so great at the back. Knowing our luck we get through those two and lose to Atletico in the final !!!!

If all goes to plan tonight could be epic and would have loved to be there. An early goal would help us relax but I think the most crucial is do not concede. I just have this horrible feeling it’s going to go to the wire that maybe they will score but we will get 3. COYGs

Left back options will be Kivior, Zinny, Timber and Tomi. I would actually keep Tierney even though we won’t. Now we can invert from both sides which means Tierney does not have to invert. I think he could have done as good a job as Kivior in the current system where White inverts, plus he is the only player we could play as wing back if we ever needed that option. The main problem is he cant stay fit. Right back options will be Benjamin, Timber and Tomi with Timber Tomi and white options for Saliba and Kivior and Tomi options for Gabriel. Apart from Jesus I think the others will be sold assuming we actually get any decent offers which I am not convinced will happen. FFP is going to effect things and Europe still has no money.

I assume this was in the pub, at the end of the night, 10 pints in and you were with your Chelsea mates who told you Havertz was lazy and shite.
I assume you and your mates have never played if that does make sense? You cant see why he does not have to make Worldies? I will try to explain. He helps us control play because he helps us retain possession because he does not give the ball away as much as ramsdale, because he is more comfortable with his feet and he has better distribution. The other team has less possession and therefore less chances. I hope that makes sense. Of course I could be wrong but I think that’s my humble opinion. No one on here thinks that’s such a stupid statement and I don’t have to even ask the question.
Raya has the most clean sheets and a better stat record than Ramsdale. Pointless going into individual mistakes as I am sure Raya’s stats were better than Ramsdales last year.

Jeff let’s hope you are as right about Raya as you were about Havertz! Although after saying he was shite and a waste of money you have now decided to save judgement till the end of the season maybe do the same for Raya?
I do hope Raya continues to have nothing to do in games, and I don’t think you will find another fan who thinks that the way he plays has nothing to do with that. You think it’s a coincidence that Ramsdale has to pull out a worldly every time he plays but Raya barely has a shot to save.

As I said Ramsdale is a better shot stopper and any game where we are likely to get battered I would put him straight back in goal but at the moment they are few and far between.

Well weird to actually have a bit of stress in the game. Bad mistake by Ramsdale but redeemed himself with a great save from a great effort from Tony and the save from the header. Saying all that the thing this makes you see is with Raya when he plays well, he helps us control the game so he never has to pull out Worldy’s which Ramsdale seems to have to make every time he plays. Ramsdale is a much better shot stopper but when Raya plays well he virtually has no saves to make.
Waka Waka Havertz ! Another vital goal and now looking like £65 million well spent.

You slaughtered Havertz and Arteta for signing him before we signed him and again after he was poor in his first few games. You are now being sensible and saying wait till the end of the season? I just asked if you have seen enough in these good games for the signing, even at 65 million, to now to make sense for you or to change your mind? I am not even 100% convinced on him yet but I do think we are a better team with him in the squad. We’ve done the Raya /Ramsdale, Viera thing to death.

Does anyone think Havertz is still a bad signing? He is far from perfect and he was poor in his first few games. One of the issues mentioned was he is lazy, he has never been lazy even when he was out of form. He gives us an option up front which we did not have. He can slot into the 8 position and he makes us much less predictable because he can swap positions with so many players. He is still frustrating and at times a bit sloppy with his touch but i think it’s hard to now say he has not been a good signing. I have always said why I thought the signing made sense but his poor form initially nearly turned me, but now he is doing what I thought he would, which is give us more goals than Xhaka and give us a big man option up front.

This is getting ridiculous the same players 3 months ago could not score in a brothel now all of them can’t stop scoring! We have a very good team and we have a very very good manager. They are poor but we have made everyone look poor lately. Great to see Partey although he looks really rusty. Viera was ok some of his touches were outstanding and technically he is very good but not sure where he fits in this team. He is no right winger for me but I think he has the talent to play where odegard is but not sure he has the work rate or attitude! Yet another fantastic result and another near perfect day. I understand it was to give White a rest but hopefully Tomi or Timber will be back soon so we don’t have to see Cedric.

Great performance especially on the back of that disapointment last week. Considering we have had a lot of games we looked really sharp at the begining you would not know that’s our third game this week. Especially as they have not played for a week we looked so much sharper. 12 games to go it’s going to be really close. Jeorg was great again, it was a great shout to bring him in today and he was the difference. What I like is we have played really well this season so many different ways and we have not had a full squad. We have had great performances with Jorg in midfield, Havertz Trossard axis, Jesus up top, zinny inverting, white inverting and so on.
The back five solid again and Kivior totally making that position his was very good again. Keeper was good again, distribution very good again and he actually had some saves to make and did well. Midfield solid again and up front Havertz was fustrating as usual great one min the touch of a rapist the next. He will do what I thought he would which is score more goals than Xhaka but just a bit more sharp and care he could score a bucket load of goals even from midfield. Saka is Mr consistent and did really well against Livramento. Martinelli kept Trips quiet and was another great threat. Crowd were excellent Arteta another 10 out of ten for selection and tactics.

Ffs started really sloppy on the ball then controlled the game but without creating any real chances apart from set pieces. Very sterile but looked like a straight draw and then that kick in the bollocks. Went back to a pre Dubai performance. Gutted only consolation is it’s only half time.

Same 11 again. Not like Arteta he will usually mix things up. Maybe he feels as he has been able to take the players off early in the last two games they can handle it. Looking forward to this which means it will probably all go wrong !

Party is fit….well..he is training and so is Viera. Would be good to give Partey some mins if possible. I am not sure where Viera fits into this team at the moment. I would not be surprised if we do stick with the same 11. They have been outstanding the last two games so that would be an easy decision. My worry is potentially 3 games in a week might be a bit much for some players and I think Newcastle might even be a tougher game on Saturday so maybe go with that 11 then and make some changes at Porto. As I said previously Arteta’s hardest job is now choosing a starting 11 each game and that will get harder as we get more players back but it’s a problem he would want.

Another very good performance not as fluid as last week but very very good. Kivior was very good again as I said not a great fan of his but he is changing my mind. Great at Burnley Last week he was against Kudos and kept him very quiet. It’s working because he is not inverting. I wonder why we have never tried inverting white before. White is no Zinny inverting, but he is better than Kivior or even Tomi. Havertz who I was beginning to think was not going to work is now working for the team. He is seamlessly swapping places with Ode Trossard and Martinelli and it’s making us really unpredictable. He works his socks off and He is making great runs and If he could get his touch right in the box he could score a bucket full. His goal was great and the first time I actually thought he looked like scoring and looked like he believed he would score. Saka outstanding again, Ode outstanding again, Rice great Martinelli and Trossard both very good. We scored 5 and should have scored more. “Diet Pep” superb day. Also great no one talking about Raya/Ramsey anymore his distribution is great and he does have something to do with the fact he is not facing any shots as his distribution and skill on the ball helps us control these games. Let’s just all hope we can keep this up, I am sure we will go through tougher times but let’s sing when we are winning. COYGS.

Still “questions” after that week? and no kids in a game he brought on a 16 year old? and as much as we all dont like it, he does not rate Walters better than Cedric.
Knew you would find a way to “question” diet pep after a record away win against European Champions after we had a host of injuries!
You know when we win as you don’t show up on here for a while after the game. At least It’s taken you two days this time to find some reason to question (complain).

What a performance from the team and diet pep!!!!
Another week where he got it spot on with the team and tactics. I Didn’t fancy Kivior at left back and he was excellent. Movement up front was the best it’s been. I didn’t fancy Havertz but he played it perfectly, mix between attacking and defending no goals but very good everywhere else. Great day to be a gooner this last week might convince people we have a very good manager!
