Munich is about 6 hours drive away from Leverkusen so if he moves to Bayern he will up root his family. I used to live about 20 minutes from Leverkusen and its a bit of a dump of a town, built majnly around the Bayer chemical plant. Doesn’t mean he lives directly in it, but I can’t imagine there’s much appeal to stay there from a family life point of view.

    Munich is however pretty nice.

yeah no worries Bingo, I was just surprised someone suggested him and wanted to know why. I guess we will agree to disagree on his credentials for the job.

RH I too want Alonso but as said before I think he might stay another season at Leverkusen with a view to take over at Madrid. Just my gut feeling and I hope it’s wrong!

Anyone know much about Amorim? I did see an article (BBC I think) comparing linked managers to Klopp by assessing things like attacking policy, ability to change the game and whilst was ahead of the lot this guy came second.

Hang on… I found the article!

Bingo, writing him off is not bias it’s my opinion. I wanted to know why you liked him so much as I’ve not seen any liverpool fan mention him as a suitable candidate except you. I tried to engage you to offer your opinion but instead you say I have a bias, well my mistake.

So I have an opinion that differs from yours and therfore is a “bias”? Then maybe I should tell you to skip your own bias towards him, but that’s not very productive in a forum for opinions.

“his personality fits better with Liverpool and scouse than anyone has realised.”. Could not disagree more. He is not the sort that would embrace the passion of the liverpool fan the way Klopp has. It’s well known he doesn’t even speak English.

You’re welcome to explain why you think his personality fits liverpool so well but I think you’ll be the only one with that opinion.

I browse a number of forums and I think your Zidane shout Bingo is the only one I’ve seen. What attracts you to him so much? He’s not known for his tactical brilliance, being charismatic or for building a team in his character. He won the CL a lot but I never hear his name regarded as on of the modern greats, just lucky to have walked into a team like Madrid when he did.

I think he’s as far removed from the connection and personality we’ve enjoyed with Klopp as any of the other linked managers.

The talk here is that Alonso will go to Bayern but most of that talk is either coming from Bayern themselves or jorno’s on their payroll. This is typical of them, be threatened and then try their best to destabilise the threat.

I actually think Alonso might stay where he is and move to Madrid in 2025 (or whenever CA’s contract is up). Would be a big kick in the teeth for Leverkusen fans if he trod the well trodden route from a Bayern rival to München.

Amorin is well spoken of but I have to admit I know very little about his style. De Zebri (whose stock I think has fallen this season) is being courted by Barca I think.

Got a feeling it might be Nagelsmann.

Rob, never said I enjoyed injuries to our own players, what an odd thing to suggest. But moaning about it a dozen times a day isn’t my way of dealing with it either. You’ve become the Victor Meldrew of the forum, it’ either moaning about injuries or saying the opposition will score and then telling us how right you were on the few occasions it happens.

Lighten up, enjoy the season, we’re doing OK at the moment.

Bingo, injuries are no laughing matter with Rob, cannot believe you risked a joke. It’s a serious matter and should be treated so. Also moaned about in every match preview, several times before the match and as often as possible during, at least one in every four posts.

We lost the game because we let Utd turn it into chaos. First half we were hitting too many long balls but in the 2nd half MacAllister was on the ball a lot more and we looked much better, just poor decision making let us down. But in ET especially when 3-2 up we let them turn it into a mess of a match with no shape and with the crowd behind them it was always going to favour them.

When we needed control we were found lacking. Players fault? Klopps? Doesn’t matter to be honest.

Bingo I was always confident we’d avoid drawing Villa. Dunno why, just a gut feeling maybe? Or the fact Villa were not in the draw? Might be that. Different competition and all that.

The media and fans will go crazy about a potential Klopp vs Alonso final but the talk here in Germany is that Bayern are ahead of Liverpool in recruiting him. Take it with a pinch of salt it’s German media talking about a top germany based manager potentially managing the top German side..

By the way Ginger, and this isn’t intended as being smug, but remember in the summer when you were mentioning the number of departures including Arthur Melo and I counted that by including Clark. You said you cannot include the likes of Clark and I said he will get more minutes than Melo did. He’s more than done that, looks a proper player.

Actually missed the first 30 mins so you can imagine my surprise when I switch on at 4-0 up! Think Klopp’s selection was a couple of first teamers too heavy given the lead and deadness of this dead rubber but seems all is OK with them.

“Klopp clearly acknowledging it isn’t a ‘dead rubber.”

Clearly Klopp got this wrong. I get some need match fitness building but it’s a heck of a risk. Endo and Gomez have played a lot recently and Endo should be wrapped in cotton wool he’s so important.

Not just you Ginger but clearly Bingo too and others on different forums. For once the reffing was consistent with Endo and Ake, as in the blocks were both deemed OK.

Seen a few posts complaining about the Endo situation and City’s goal.

Endo was not penalised for the block, neither was Ake. Endo was penalised for being offside and his block deemed him active. Ake was not offside.

There are three dead ball instances where you cannot be offside, goal kicks, throw ins and corners. Only after another player has touched the ball does the rule come back in force.

He was offside from a corner? When the ball does not go forward? Are you sure about this?

No idea how the Saudi’s got involved in all this!

I actually find it embarrassing when Liverpool fans go on about this sort of conspiracy. Leave the self pity everyone is out to get us to other fans.

I mean if there was something to it do you not think at least one of the investigative journalists would have uncovered something by now? Or the PL who as you might have seen have already thrown 115 charges at them and none are connected to the refs and payroll.

MacAllister best player on the pitch (again) and Endo superb, brilliant partnership developing there.

We played well, probably deserved more than the draw and considering the players we were missing or having just returned. Going to be some final 10 or whatever games, hopefully get our big players back firing asap.
