Missed the game live – arghhh! But even Match of the Day managed to do it justice.

Nice to Ian Wright as pundit! 🙂

Gary Neville is quite complimentary in his podcast. Am very happy to be the Title under-dogs.

Many of the Sky lot have an axe to grind for one reason or another.

    Lucksterk,

Big shout that by Poch to put Winksy on!

As you said, once we scored, the pressure was on us a bit, so putting the lad on showed great faith.

Think Janssen off was a bit of needing him fit for Sunday as our only officially fit forward.

    DP,

Was at that Gillingham game. I had travelled 3 hours and more to get there to hear “11 changes from the weekend.” At first I was a bit gutted, but then saw a lot of the youngsters were starting. I didn’t think Gillingham would offer much of an opposition so took it as a good chance to see the youngsters up close.

They played really well on the night. We saw 4 of the goals but my 9 year old were flagging and we had 3 hours to home, so we left early. As a result I missed seeing Marcus Edwards whom I really wanted to see play – The English Messi as he is described. Hey-ho, never mind! Heard the fifth go in as we ran up the road to the train.

Great atmosphere. The Shelf were in good voice and spirits all night! My lad loved it! (I might have a bit also).

    What a big day- Sunday!

You don’t win the league by beating your rivals necessarily, but you sure do need a result against them, especially when you are playing at home.

City is a massive game to come this early in the season. The best team on the day wil take the spoils. I do think it could be either of us. I do not expect to see a draw.

City are looking SO good though. We will have to be at our very best. No passengers Sunday – full throttle Tottenham please!

COYS – in Poch and the boys we trust!

Missed the first half due to work commitments, but saw all of the second half on telly, sat with a nice cold pint of Greenking IPA.

I thought, even in this half alone, it could have been 3 to the Spurs with a little bit of luck. So what could it have been if the first half was counted?

I actually think Janssen is doing a really good job up there. Would I like to see him in the goals? For sure I would! But, am sure we will see them come along like buses soon enough. He is getting in the right positions, it’s just not happening. But he works hard and brings other players in to the game, and it’s tough to be critical when a player is doing that.

Really like the look of Winks. It is early days, but it seems he is what Carroll has not become. Now he is a bit older, he appears to have added bulk where once he was a skinny teen! Looks very promising – not wishing to tempt providence.

Kevin (the winger guy) looked a great prospect when he came on. It changed it up a lot. A player to get us off our seats has been missing for a long while now! Hop-skippety-scuddo past the opposition defenders was great to see, and a willingness to chase back. Also appeared to have that football intelligence which some previous players have lacked. We shall see – too early to be sure of this fella!

A great result and pleasing on the eye! It really is coming together. Great squad depth now.

Was at the game on Wednesday and was really interested to see the progress of the new stadium.

OMG! It’s going to be ma-hussive!

Works seem to be really coming on and it is already beginning to take shape and you can see, already, just how much it is going to dwarf The Lane – bless the old girl!

Do hope the turnstiles at the new ground are gonna be a bit wider! My goodness me, you cannot have too much to eat before you enter the ground, can you!?!

Lots of players signing long term contract extensions.

Daniel must be planning a big clear out!

    The_Thud,

According to the latest results you appear a ways out in front!

    Just coincidence..? 🙂

It seems Mr Bloggs is after your blood. You need to watch him, he has a habit of copying others predictions in order to derail his opponents results!

Need to see Wimmer playing more games to keep him happy. I know centre back rotation is not ideal for the team, but he is a real asset to the team – now and for the future.

Poch has got to rotate to keep the (all) players happy. If not, then the way we play will see us burn out again, and players leave who are too good to lose.

Don’t get all the criticism of Carroll! He’s not a first teamer but he keeps play ticking over and is a very useful squad player to have.

Winks looked very assured but Gillingham didn’t offer much opposition in midfield or anywhere on the pitch for that matter.

Loved Janssens commitment. There was one point in first half he shot, it was cleared, and he bounced up and chased the defender down – fantastic!

A bit worried about him. Don’t want to be alarmist, but he did miss a few very decent chances on the night.

Don’t want to see another Soldado at The Lane!

Am expecting to see a lot of changes to the team for tonight’s match. Score is therefore notoriously difficult to predict. am hoping to see three or four but could easily go to penalties.

Am taking my 9 year old on a school night. Its 3 hours to get home! What am I thinking? Just have to be sure to get to The Lane this year before she is gone forever 🙁 This may be our only chance – tickets are just SO hard to come by these days 🙁

Sissoko would be awesome. He was fantastic when we played Newcastle, as well as what he did at Euros!

If he comes, would rate our midfield options as the best in the league (or very close to it). Just would not feel there was a fear of injury as cover would be equally as good. This means good competition for places. It will push players to perform.

Think it will help Dele a bit also!

    Can’t argue against:

    – Mason sold
    – Chadli sold
    – Bentaleb loan with view to sold

Think we would, most of us, be happy with that!

Am disappointed to see Pritchard go without a real shout at being in the first team. We shall see!

    – Wanyama in
    – Jansen in

These are both an improvement, and can go straight in to team.

Still think we need pace on wings to change it up a bit if needs be.

Little steps. Not too much change which is good but just need a bit more without panic buying. Zaha is not exciting me one bit! Rather keep hold of Son and give a youngster a run.

Thought Liverpool were lucky to come away with a point in the end.

To miss that many chances to put the game to bed, against a team not playing well but grinding out results, is not the stuff of Champions.

It is exactly why they should have lost!

Am very happy with transfer business thus far. But again, a season is being started without our business being completed.

How many times will this happen? How many points do we risk dropping? Especially this year with so many wholesale changes at other clubs!

Pace on wings to change it up if needs be is still not there.

I think we have a very settled side again which I think is best. No-one of note has left us and the two new boys are just what we wanted.

One or two more tops! Must also be able to go straight in to team. No 17 year olds for the future – right now is needed!

Heart said 2-0 to Spurs. Head said 1-1 so got what I expected from game.

Everton are always a tough test so will take result happily.

Poor, poor first half. Much better second half!

Clearly STILL no leader on the pitch if it takes manager rocket at half time to make lads take thumbs out their backsides and start to play.

Not too worried about Kane, it’s two and a half months until he gets his shooting boots on.

Good to see manager change it up early to counter Everton tactics.
