Our first match after the international break is at home to Southampton, meanwhile Spurs play Arsenal that same weekend.
This kicks off a crazy packed few weeks of fixtures. We play 13 games in 6 weeks, from 18th Nov to New Years Day.
With this hectic schedule it’s a great time to be having players coming back into fitness and players like Chamberlain starting to find his feet.
Usually Klopp is left with a skeleton crew to work with for much of this period but this time he’ll have a lot of senior players to work with. This should provide him with valuable time to get things ironed out on the training pitch because when we get into this run into Xmas there won’t be very much time to get anything done.
I think we can pick up a lot of points in this period and start climbing up the table. Should be interesting.November 8, 2017 at 5:16 pm #1555443
Also Lallana playing behind closed doors this week.November 8, 2017 at 8:35 pm #1555520
We SHOULD be able to pick up points and close the gap to second place. But then, we’re Liverpool.November 8, 2017 at 10:35 pm #1555545
I just hope there won’t be any injuries over the international break. Southampton is always a tricky fixture, but if we finally have Mane, Salah, Firmino and Coutinho all on the pitch we should have too much for them.November 9, 2017 at 7:50 am #1555579
I am curious to see if Klopp plays 442 more oftenNovember 9, 2017 at 11:53 am #1555750
Just hope none of our top players gets injured in this break. We must beat Southampton to keep the momentum going, and then take it from there.
Good thing we have a deep squad of 8 midfielders and 4 strikers (competitng for 6 places), with only Lallana injured. The intense competition for places will hopefully yield very good results going forwardNovember 9, 2017 at 12:57 pm #1555778
Salah hasn’t went with Egypt.
Coutinho and Firmino might be involved a bit in 2 friendlies held in Europe (one in London)
Sturridge, Ox and Milner are not involved.
Can and Matip might be involved in some friendlies.
We’ve sent our own physio along with Mane. If they win their first game, they qualify and hopefully Mané is rested/sent back.
Gomez is a worry as Clynes still not fit.
It’s good that most of our players will not be playing in competitive games however the risk of injury still exists I suppose.November 9, 2017 at 2:10 pm #1555818

Ginger, I agree, half of all injuries either occur in training or pre game.November 11, 2017 at 10:01 am #1556338
First of the 2 internationals out of the way and seemingly all our players have come through unscathed.
Mane won their qualifier so hopefully he’ll be rested for 2nd game or better yet sent back to Liverpool.
Lovren got a full game under his belt which is probably useful for us so he isn’t stepping back onto the pitch completely untried after his injury.
Many others got a few mins here and there.
Not sure about our Brazilan duo.
Fingers crossed for this week coming.November 11, 2017 at 12:33 pm #1556387
Van Dijk had our attack in his pocket last season. Lets see if he will be the same player this time around.November 13, 2017 at 2:25 pm #1556919
So Mane has been sent back to the club early with a slight hamstring problem.
The seriousness of it is unknown but at the min it doesn’t appear to be too bad but precautions must be taken.
Perhaps not starting him at the weekend might be the way to go.November 13, 2017 at 2:37 pm #1556931

Much better to be safe and rest Mane past the 25/11. 😊November 13, 2017 at 3:38 pm #1556950
…and though I didn’t see the game, apparently Lovren was at fault for the goal conceded by Croatia against Greece last week! Quelle surprise! Klavan or Gomez to partner Matip this weekend pleaseNovember 13, 2017 at 4:56 pm #1556977
Was hoping playing a game away from Liverpool in a different shirt may have had a positive influence for him and allowed him to relax into his game again.
If true this does not bode well for the next 6 weeks.November 14, 2017 at 1:01 pm #1557263
I think Klopp will go with Klavan rather than Gomez. TBH I’m not particularly confident with him either as he’s made mistakes like Lovren.
I would play Gomez not because he won’t make mistakes (because he will) but more thinking about future integration and to assess his potential to be a first team back up player at CB.November 16, 2017 at 7:58 am #1557818

We need to use the squad right over these next 13 games. Firmino and Moreno play to many games in a row. At least a few players have got a good rest over last two weeks. We have a good squad so use it. Give Sturridge a few more starts.
