Fact of the matter is our coach isn’t good enough. Fergie spent years getting the best out of some average players but he always managed to get a few top players as well. Where Utd excelled was getting players who were very good or excellent and bought them before they hit their prime and got even better. Ronaldo, Stam, Evra, Vidic, Keane to name but a few. The problem now is that even the players who have potential to be great players, Depay for example, they won’t get better under LVG because his style of play is too stifling. Even the good or quite good players look extremely ordinary under LVG. I’ve said and still believe that the squad doesn’t need a complete overhaul, three top class players would go a long way, and a new manager who can let the creativity flow again. Obviously there is some deadwood but it would be interesting to see how the squad would do under a manager who didn’t keep such a tight rein on them

I rate him as a central midfielder or a back up left back. Although he’s played reasonably well next to Smalling he’d be better utilised in midfield

There you have it. Guardiola signs for City while United continue to sleep. Wonder if he will need a 3 year process!!!?

Pep will only stay for three years so I’d imagine he does have a three year process
