Apologies for the somewhat self-centred thread, but I wanted to let you all know that tomorrow is my last official day working on TEAMtalk after just over 10 years!
I’m staying with Ole Media (the company that now runs this site and Football365) so will be available on the same e-mail address should anyone ever need me for any reason, but as of Monday I’ll be working permanently on our new venture, Planet Football. You’ll be seeing and hearing lots about it on TEAMtalk in the coming months so you’ll always know where to find me if you’re missing me 😉
Some parts of the job I’ve loved, others not so much, but chatting with you lot on the forums has always been one of the things I’ve enjoyed most. My run of Friday night lates in particular were always a great laugh!
It’s a shame that some of the best posters from those days are long gone, but you shouldn’t underestimate what a good group there is still posting regularly. No matter what you think of the design, it’s the people that make a forum and there are some great ones on here.
I dare say I’ll pop up on here from time to time (certainly on the Stoke page) and might even be roped into help out with the site a few more times over the summer, but for now I just wanted to say thanks for all the good debates, the laughs, the abuse (!) and in the case of TTG and Whoisbeni, the money 😉
Cheers!
June 2, 2016 at 4:47 pm #1046639Wow, can’t believe it.
Great to have 10 years of experience with TT on your CV Mark and I’m sure you’ll go on to do better things in your career.
Now there’s that small matter of a ‘leaving do’
We’ll have to have a get together!
June 2, 2016 at 5:19 pm #1046705Is this a permanent thing? Will planet football have a forum? Most importantly will you still be moderating the forum or have you been relieved from the duties?
All the best mate. One of the reasons I joined and kept posting on the forum was I liked the fact the editorial team gave their input and opinions along with the fans. You being one of the most consistent.
June 2, 2016 at 5:25 pm #1046711Mark, all the best mate you’ve done a great job and given more of yourself to the job and the site/sites than could have been expected from anyone.
You will be sorely missed . Cheers 999
June 2, 2016 at 5:31 pm #1046723CM, yes, it’s permanent so I’ll no longer be moderating on here. That’s why I appointed club mods a while back; I just couldn’t say at the time.
Planet Football won’t have a forum, but hopefully one of the other lads will take on the baton of keeping an eye on things, though I can’t promise anything as I did it because I enjoyed it, often outside of working hours. Not everyone has got the same passion for the Your Say!
Thanks to you, Nil and 999 for the kind comments.
June 2, 2016 at 5:35 pm #1046732Good luck in your new venture Mark. It was a pleasure having you on this site and I quite frankly felt sorry for you with all the abuse you took because of the new format.
I share nine nine nine, CM, and Nil’s sentiments. Cheers.

June 3, 2016 at 9:03 am #1047467That’s a shame Mark, You’ll be missed on here. It was always nice to see one of the editors take so much interest in the forums. There’s been some great debates and you did a good job of keeping this bunch of reprobates in line (most of the time). Good luck with Planet Football, I will check it out.
