Pax, different players , same outcome. We had results like this last season against Newcastle Watford and others. Why do we start some games so slowly under klopp?

We had plenty of the ball but we created feck all clear cut chances. We had no idea how to break them down. All our chances were long shots. Grand if these games happen now and again but they happen a lot for us. It hasn’t changed under klopp yet

I don’t care if we finish 6th. I just want to see genuine progress. whst has changed in a year? Nothing much. We still can’t defend. I like klopp but I wish people would stop thinking he is the messiah. He makes huge mistakes. Saturday is his fault. I don’t get the klopp love in. I will if we start to win trophies and get back into the l but st the moment has done nothing. We can be exciting to watch but we can be just as bad.

No one in their right mind is asking him to be sacked. He needs plenty of time but it’s just like we aren’t moving anywhere st the moment. We are just to inconsistent. It’s been the same thing for years. Burnley won’t beat any of Chelsea, city, Utd st home. We will have many more results like that this season and its why we will finish 6th

Sean – You say Saturday was Klopps fault, please enlighten me, the changes he made from the previous game were Sturridge in for an injured Mane, no brainer decision, and Milner in for Moreno which was a call pretty much everyone was asking for all last week, (I however would have played Moreno, don’t like a right footer at left back) I am pretty sure you were one of these too, we still had 81% possession and 23 shots at goal, not sure what else the manager could have done.

Shanksey – We don’t have 10 games like this a season, we maybe have some games where we don’t play well but not 10 games where we totally dominate but can’t put the ball in the net, we have a couple, but I was talking to a workmate who is a Utd fan and he said they have a couple of those every season, the thing is we only notice our own ones.

Have to say,I agree with Sean.

Klopp refuses to admit that we have a problem at LB

He seems to have his favourites (Lallana,Firmino) regardless of form, and Rodgers got slated for that. Why is Klopp different?

    Firmino is not a striker

    Milner is not a LB

Henderson and Wijnaldum are struggling to play the positions that he’s asking them to play. I don’t see how Wijnaldum fits into our current set up. He was a strange signing for me

Saturday was an all too familiar scenario as some games last season. All the possession and shots don’t mean anything if you don’t put the ball in the net. Burnley had 3 shots, scored twice

ye i called for milner to start but after 10 mins itwas clear that it wasnt working and we need a proper left footer out wide as we had acres of space. Koeman changed things for everton after 38 mins the other day. Klopp doesnt chnage things until its to late.

if sturridge starts then play him as a centre forward not a right side player.
how many shoits actually caused their keeper real problems? how many clear cut chances did we have? we could have been there all day and we wouldnt have broken through.

why play sturridge wide then bring origi on and play him up top?

Sean & ST i once mentioned that & i got slated by your fellow fans on here. I have no doubt that Klopp is a huge improvement on Rodgers & he may be the best decision your board has made in years. The inconsistency issues experienced when Rodgers was still around haven’t ended yet & a DM & LB are still needed. He may be your messiah but he did not impress me with his business during this window. He seems to be equally as ignorant as Wenger when it comes to solving obvious problems. Its still early in the season so to judge him after one poor result may be to some extent unfair.

Pogba6 To be fair,we aren’t just judging him on this one result. This kind of thing happened last season, when we beat City and Chelsea, then lost to the likes of Newcastle and Watford. Not much has changed it seems. The honeymoon period that Klopp enjoyed last season has gone now. He’s brought in his own players, this is his squad now.

He now says that he can’t wait for the transfer window to shut, and says that the journos and fans are ‘obsessed with transfers’. We’re not. We can just see the areas of the team that need improving,as can the press, which is why he got so prickly with them in the press conference. If the fans and the press are saying the same thing, that should tell you something. I understand he’s protecting his player in public, but there’s a difference between that and not recognising the problem. Moreno costs us goals. Milner is a right footed midfield player. The Burnley lad just made Milly use his left foot all afternoon, and he struggled. If we don’t bring in a LB and a DM before the window shuts,we will continue to struggle

Stevo haha, maybe they had a good chat after the game at the Emirates last week about it ?. We’re not asking the club to go and spend £90m on a Pogba (not that we’d get him anyway but still). We’re asking the club to address the problems that we have in the team and squad by signing the DM that we need, and the LB that we’ve needed since John Arne Riise left in 2008. None of the LB’s that have been bought since Riise left have cut the mustard. As an Arsenal fan,you can surely identify with our problem, given your need for a CB and a striker, yet you’ve bought Xhaka for £34m,while Liverpool have spent £25m on Wijnaldum. Maybe decent signings, but not exactly needed at this time. We’re asking Klopp and the hierarchy to identify the problems that are staring us as fans, pundits, the press etc,in the face, and go out and spend the £27m that we got for Benteke on a LB. If they can’t sign a better LB than Moreno or Milner with £27m,then I would be amazed. We needed a new GK,because Mignolet isn’t good enough. We signed a new GK. Yet,we need a new LB,and are playing a right footed midfield player there. We didn’t say “we need a new GK,so we’ll just stick an outfield player in goal instead”. So why are we shoehorning a player into the LB position when there are funds there that we can spend? The defence is poor to say the very least, and needs protection from a specialized DM player, yet none has been signed, and we’ve conceded 5 goals in 2 games. It’s madness

yes mate that’s why I made the comparison! its not what you want to hear as fan, its not about spending for the sake of it its about bolstering positions that NEED addressing that the world and his wife can see NEED addressing! except by the manager!

what worries me is we have no ball.s chelsea go down 1-0 to watford on sat and win 2-1. we go 1-0 down after 2 mins and its game over. We have no leaders. Look who is our capatain.

It wasn’t Klopp’s fault for the Defeat on Saturday….I blame…….The Fucking Dozy Workmen at Anfield for not getting the Main Stand Finished on time otherwise We wouldn’t have had to reverse the Fixture 🙂

ST – In the same post you state that Klopp’s honeymoon period is over, he now has his own players in and has had his first pre season, then you say we are not judging him on one game as this happened last season.

As I see it you are at one point saying he should really start from a clean slate this season and then go back to criticise him for last seasons results, surely it is one or the other.

Pax,what I meant was, that it’s crazy to slate him after 1 defeat, but the fact that we’ve lost to a ‘lesser’side is concerning, given how often it happened last year. If we’d lost to Arsenal, and beaten Burnley,I doubt a lot would have been made of it. But we’ve had a good result at Arsenal (like the Etihad and Stamford Bridge last season) and followed that up with a poor result against a side we should, with all respect,be beating (see Watford,Newcastle from last season) so,in essence, little has changed,so it is a concern, but no more than that at this stage. It may just be a blip, but if he doesn’t sign a LB and DM before the window shuts,I think that could be a costly mistake. We should back him of course, but not blindly. If he makes errors (like not signing a LB) then we shouldn’t just accept it. It needs sorting out. No one will convince me that Moreno and Milner are defenders

ST – I admit it is concerning, but no more than that, there is always iffy results early in the season, Arsenal losing to Villa springs to mind. People were just blowing their stacks, I was just trying to say, let the season settle in, have a moan by al means but some of it was just over the top from certain posters. The players might have had a full season but they need a few competitive games before they are up to full tilt.

Pax,yeah you’re right mate. Let’s hope it was just a blip, and a case of ‘settling in’ to the season. I actually fancy us to win on Saturday. Tottenham will presumably have a go,and that will probably suit us. I’m sure that, given time,Klopp will get us where we want to be. Who knows,if this Chinese deal happens,it all could happen sooner rather than later
