I’m going to change my prediction, I’m going to go for an Arsenal win (although I’m praying I’m wrong) of 2-1.

Seen Mourinho’s presser yesterday and it was fucking strange with a capital S. Don’t know if he thinks the board are backing him to the hilt or he just doesn’t give a bollix anymore. Cant believe he is still deflecting everything from himself and making daft excuses about signings and player professionalism. Maybe he is already getting the narrative for his sacking out there early. He also was proper rude to MUTV. A mate was telling me David May and Lou Macari hammered him a bit after the Southampton game. So now he is annoyed at some of the squad, the board and in house TV. He must be looking canned.

Anyways, no idea what to make of tonight’s game. We could get spanked 4 or scrape an ugly win. Not sure it makes a difference anymore either way. Will go for a 1-0 win.

All due respect Steve but i think that article is a touch smug and getting a little ahead of itself. We are 6 years post Fergie while you lot are 6 months post Wenger. Emery has a record of starting well at clubs without ever going on to rip up trees mate. If he gets you’s back to challenging in the next couple of years then maybe that article will have a bit of relevance but at the moment its just blowing smoke up arses without any foundation.

@n1xer – Mourinho’s narrative seems pretty clear to me mate, every single fibre of his being wants to be out of his job, out of our club and out of our city. That being said, what he wants just as much if not more is to comfort himself on the journey back down south with the thought that he has just trousered the thick end of 30 million smackers for doing a job that any right minded supporter can only describe as a deplorable failure.

Everything he has been saying and all the actions he has been taking since the summer is screaming ‘please sack me’ to Woodward and the gimps, but they are obviously unwilling to play ball with him and just allow him to be rewarded so gloriously for doing such a despicable job only for him then to pop up again a few weeks or months later at somewhere like PSG or Real Madrid as if nothing ever happened, and even if it did it was all somebody else’s fault.

You can sort of understand where they are coming from on that BUT in the meantime their failure to make the right decision has had a massive detrimental impact on our club and our season, has made us a laughing stock and resulted in almost a weekly ‘crash and burn’ scenario being played out for the whole football world to see and laugh their cocks off about, and the frightening thing is I don’t think we’re even close to seeing an end to this unholy, pathetic shitstorm yet, simple as that.

Cant disagree with any of that mate. My biggest worry is who replaces him? Realistically, who would you have in yourself?

N1xer, fair play mate, just a news story that i thought might be of interest and yes you are correct in all you say, but by the same token, what we have done is what many of you have been screaming for, for a while now, and could still happen IF the owners take the right decisions, even with Maureen in charge.

it really wasnt a dig at your club mate, i feared the same would happen to us and although we are not pulling up tree’s and only now just got in to the top 4 and may not stay there, we are in as good a position as we could be post AW with the owners we have and the money available by the likes of you, city and chelsea…..

a bigger club than ours, such as yourselves, IF they did something similar could do much more, thats why i mposted it

    cheers

I wasn’t having a pop Steve. I just think with out current predicament we’re the easiest target in world football at the moment. After 20 years of success and having the most unpopular manager in the game in charge, everyone wants their pound of flesh. It seems our current situation is making more headlines than the rest of the teams in the league put together!

In fairness mate, you have definitely handled the transition from Wenger way better than we did after Fergie. The interesting part will be to see if you have enough money and the right manager to take you back to challenging for the big prizes.

Tell you one thing though, the days when tonight’s game was one of the biggest of the season and had everyone buzzing seem like a million fucking years ago now.

    Who can replace Mourinho???

Pochetino, Zidane, Allegri, Eddie Howe. I can even take Antonio Conte over Mourinho. Diego Simeone, Luis Enrique, Didier Deschamps. etc etc

The damage was done the day Mourinho signed, has moved us further behind with his terrible attitude. Time to retire Jose, maybe a long break and then come back refreshed and manage Portugal for the World Cup.. Unfortunately you have lost your edge and your batteries are near gone..

Uww…sorry just seen your post about Baku. I was supposed to go last week believe it or not with my brother in law to watch Sporting play Qarabags but the missus put the kaibosh on it. He came back raving about the place…went their via Tbilisi (which he said was even better) and an overnight train between the two.

Said Baku was very safe, a great mix of old medieval buildings and mental new stuff. Culturally very interesting and beautiful. Food was top notch but generally the prices were very western although he’s a proper little snob so probably went to the very best restaurants around.

Really recommended it though, happy to ask him any specifics. Anything to avoid talking about this fucking football club of ours!

@Tommy – I remember it too well, almost 46 years ago to the day. Run ragged by a certain Don Rogers and beaten 5-0, there was quite a few days like that around that period and although we are deep in the brown stuff right now it ain’t quite that bad. Not just yet anyway!.

Not sure why we are keeping the three statue back idea:

De Gea, Dalot, Bailly, Rojo, Smalling, Darmian, Herrera, Matic, Lingard, Martial, Rashford

Hopefully Martial and Lingard get out wide and help the fullbacks find space going forward.
