Dissapointed, we huffed and puffed but it was a severe drop after the spuds game, shame as we could and should have won although its the best you lot have played for a good while, both defences were awful, some great saves from De Gea though, think we had the better chances to nick it but couldnt take them
December 6, 2018 at 7:41 am #1704857@Tommy – We can debate which team was worst throughout the last 40 years but the fact remains that the last time we had a negative goal difference at this stage of the season was in Dave Sexton’s era, never since.
So, considering the money that has been spent and the individual salaries and reputations of the players in the squad this team is comfortably the worst in my view. I suppose you could say I’m a bit biased because I absolutely detest this squad of jokers with a passion!.December 6, 2018 at 7:58 am #1704865The negative goal difference is a shocker. Not the least when you have a manager like Mourinho who plays safety first a very defensive manager.
We have been shite for the large part of a decade. DeGea has saved us from year to year. He has been our best player for many years and when he is a normal goalkeeper the shit has hit the fan.
Was a good game to watch with high intensity. I like that but if every United player did their very best yesterday we are very far from title contenders and far from top4.
Difficult game for Dalot for his PL debut against Arsenal.
Arsenal doubled up against him and found a highway to cut through.
Maybe better to play with 3 cb and two wingbacks when Lindelof is coming back.
Thought Bailly was good,he had Auba quite quiet.December 6, 2018 at 7:59 am #1704866Oh and Matic,Rojo and Fellaini can sod off with Mourinho.
December 6, 2018 at 8:31 am #1704879Did anyone count how many chances we created last night? Not only Jose has to go, the coaching staff need to join him.
December 6, 2018 at 9:18 am #1704911Yorkshire, this was my point last nite. We created nothing. After we equalised for 2-2, Arsensl created 3 gilt-edged chances – a brilliant save by DDG from Lacazette, a point blank miss by Mikhi and a flying save from Torreira finished spectaculary by Mikhi but offside.
I dont care if we dont win the league for the next 5 years. But I do expect a hell of a lot more from a 3 year 350m spend than being a miracle away from the top 4. Year-on-year squad progress – playing style, results, class of player.December 6, 2018 at 9:52 am #1704928It didn’t surprise me one bit that we had very little creativity last night. We badly need a number 10 and creative midfield player. We made the massive mistake of putting all our eggs in the Pogba basket and unfortunately he has turned out to be a fucking pretender. Nice moments in games for a youtube video but when backs are against the wall he’s nowhere to be seen. And before his apologists start defending his ability, there is no doubt he has a lot of talent but the fact he cant or won’t use it to take this team forward is a disgrace.
December 6, 2018 at 10:57 am #1704972I’m not sure why people are surprised/angry any more?
December 6, 2018 at 11:35 am #1704991@happy – You were the surprised one just a few short weeks ago mate when we somehow beat Everton, Bournemouth and Juve. The only surprise is that it has taken you all this time to no longer be surprised!😋😂😂
December 6, 2018 at 11:38 am #1704994Agree N1xer, there’s no doubting Pogba’s talent but he’s only at his best sporadically and when he has plenty of water carriers around him. I’ve been saying our midfield was a problem since well before Ferguson retired and it’s still, contrary to popular belief, our main problem. If you can’t regularly dominate and control midfield, you’ll win none of the major prizes and we never dominate midfield, even against mediocre opposition. Not sure Fred was ever the answer or even part of it, but midfield has got to be sorted – two, young, athletic, pacey, dynamic enforcers and a world class playmaker. Add to that two top full backs – Shaw and Dalot are not they i’m afraid – and we won’t be far away. Until then, continue to squirm.
December 6, 2018 at 11:43 am #1704997Nobody is surprised happy, not even you ! And there is no anger either except from you calling everybody a bellend. Everybody is resigned to the fact this season is going to be touch n go if we make top 4 with no light at the end of the tunnel till possibly summer when we get chance to make changes.
The really depressing fact is people aren’t angry any more. The BBC article I linked to highlighted the danger that fans have lowered their expectations and celebrate in minor achievements that should be mere formalities (like beating Young Boys at home, which you cited as evidence of building momentum).
For me the excitement is turning to the back pages to see if JM has been sacked, reading player grumbles, JM excuses and the assurances all is rosy in the garden. It’s a combination of a soap opera and The Apprentice.
December 6, 2018 at 12:12 pm #1705020Problem was that we took off our energetic players and brought on slow tedious players. Granted Martial took a knock but I would have preferred to see Mata ahead of Fellaini, Pogba or Lukaku. And why is it that Matic can never be taken off?!
December 6, 2018 at 12:24 pm #1705031I know you like Mata Manny but surely even you’ve come to realise by now that, despite his undoubted ability, he’s part of the problem, not the solution mate. Unfortunately, those energetic players you mention that we took off, aren’t particularly energetic.

December 6, 2018 at 1:43 pm #1705067Uww-Arse can easy finish in the top4,I even believe the 2nd is up for grabs. They have been on a 20 unbeaten game run! Chelsea as proved last night, way, way too easy to play against and struggling to score goals.Arsenal are the most improved team in the league from last season, imho.
December 6, 2018 at 1:53 pm #1705079By angry/surprised i mean people are still coming on here and saying x player is shit. The performance wasn’t good enough and Jose has to go etc. I’m just wondering why it’s news to them? We all know the situation we’re in – no point in rehashing the same stuff over and over again.
It’s not working for Jose, i think he needs to go but i’ll support him as long as he’s the manager and i’ll always want the team to win.December 6, 2018 at 2:38 pm #1705093One minute mourinho wants mad dogs, next character, simplicity, creativity, no matter what he has an excuse. What we need is a flipping coach. After we scored the 2nd goal at Southampton and against arsenal we didn’t create a chance. Our goals are coming from errors or individual brilliance there is no pattern of play. 2 and half years later he still hasn’t established a system. He definitely has learnt from lvg when it comes to lowering expectations. Look at his first press conference when he insulted lvg for hiding behind philosophy and pass achievements, if anything mourinho makes a lot more excuses and it’s come to point where a draw against arsenal is seen as a good point when reality is we have 3 points from last 4 games. Interesting fact is mourinho’s last 9 years as a manger with Madrid Chelsea and Utd he has won only 2 titles. Not very impressive after all
