Great win and was difficult to watch at times but I felt it was more down to individual errors in the first half than arsenal being great. Lacazette hit cross bar which came from a ricochet from rojo and then lukaku completely miss kicked it leading to degea save. Herrera should have been on earlier as when he came on the gaps through the middle were no longer there. Massive miss pogba missing against city but at home I still fancy us beating city now

Decent win and I enjoyed the game. Thought we were ok until Sanchez went deeper and then the game turned. Pogba will be a miss and Herrera is still not good enough.

No intent in my opinion, Pogba just isn’t that kind of lad. And why would he do it on purpose, nothing to gain. Clumsy, but to be fair to Mariner, I think he had to send him off.

Anyone notice that the guy whose arse you all lick is always conveniently absent after a positive performance from the lads but is always straight on here when we are less than impressive, simple as that.

Holy shit, what a game. Saw a fair bit of it live whlle working. Have just watched highlights on MOTD. Fair play to the lads they took their chances well and defended like their lives depended on it – definitely starting to look like a Mourinho team!
MoM de Gea. Comfortably the best player on the pitch

A good and an important win. Well done the lads. I dont give much hope for the title and reckon Chelsea will up there come end of the season. But the other top 4 slots are critical. Spurs, Liverpool & Arsenal spluttering makes top 4 almost in the bag for us, that’s a relief especially after last season. And the victory ends Arse home run which is icing on the cake.

I said matches against Arse can be either boring 0-0 close encounters OR high scoring close duels. I went the wrong way, thinking it would be a 1-0 much like the Chelsea game. It went the other way with a high scoring game.

The big positive for me is we are scoring goals not sitting on 1-0 advantage AND many of the games that ended draws last season (especially against lesser opponents) are now convincing victories.

My concern however is the same, the team for the next 2-3 years and the number of players who (either through age or mediocrity) I can’t see as being star players forming the core of a future great side.

Not sure the rules on this but – is there any way Pogba’s suspension can be overturned? If United were to appeal the red card, sighting that the tackle wasn’t really a malicious one and only seemed that way due to Bellerin’s irregular positioning for the tackle, could the FA overturn the decision?

Or, if we appealed, is there any chance he could play the City game (until a decision is taken) and then miss the following match?

@Manny – Grow up you fucking spanner, the reason I haven’t commented after the last two games is because I’m away in Tenerife and haven’t actually watched either of them!.Hope that’s okay with you,if not tough titties you obsessed little man!!.

Oh and by the way @manny I have noted that the only two comments you have made on this thread is firstly to predict that we would lose and then to have a go at me!.How the fuck is that having anything good to say about “a positive performance from the lads”?,oh the irony!.
Fact is,you’ve always been an agenda driven hypocrite and @hatters got it spot on recently when he called you ‘clueless’ as well, simple as that.

Happy, yes of course we can beat City. Will we? Well I wouldn’t bet on it, especially without Pogba. I’m worried they’ll just dominate possession and eventually it’ll translate into goals. We just haven’t got the type of players who can keep possession for long spells unfortunately. But if we can replicate that ‘in their faces’ type performance that Ferguson used to insist on against better teams, you never know.

JM – I don’t think you would have bet on us beating Watford or Arsenal either though. That’s not a dig, I’m just saying this united team is capable of beating anyone and we’ve perhaps been a little dismissive of how good they can be this week.
I would hope back at OT we would beat City, certainly be more confident with Pogba in the team and I’m not sure what Jose is going to do about that.
But we’ve blown Watford and Arsenal away this week away from home. If we can complete the hat trick by beating City then surely we’re in the title race and probably favourites!

Mac-Not worried about teams behind us at all myself tbh, just looking to bridge that gap to City!.We are the best team in the league bar City, and on our day like last night,we can beat anyone, home or away!.Just need Bailly and Pogba back to the 1st team. Not saying we will win the league, but only looking towards City.

That’s a hell of a leap of faith happy. Trouble with you is, you always focus on the result. There were times against Watford, and even more so against Arsenal, when our midfield was completely overrun and, in the end, that’ll catch up with us in my opinion. United still clearly have issues, for me in midfield and at full back, and at some point those deficiencies will catch up with us. Even if we beat City I don’t think we’ll become favorites and, ultimately, I don’t think we’ll win it. Hope I’m wrong and you’re right, but I doubt it.

Yeah I see that there have been issues at times in the middle of the park. But I don’t think you can control every aspect of every game for the full 90 minutes. And let’s not forget Arsenal are a good team, we can’t expect to not be troubled by good teams. We just need to take our chances and be strong at the back whilst relying on the best keeper in the world to see us through.
