We now have a great chance of finishing above both of these fading sides. Will that be enough for top4? Do we need to be concerned about Leicester?

We are awful mate, insipid performance against Bournemouth – let’s be real. We are dull, and boring we are neither a possession based team nor are we a counter attacking team, what are we? All it seems like it’s just turn up and hope for the best on the pitch. We will come unstuck when teams decide to turn up against us.

This is not good enough, and if we get top four then it would mean teams are worse than us, are we going to get there through merit? I doubt it. Where are our ball playing players anymore? We all dig out Xhaka but how many times have you seen Xhaka free to bomb forward always to mess up the pass?! It’s ridiculous and this guy is meant to be a good passer? Good passer my foot. He didn’t play poorly against Bournemouth by the way, but that isn’t saying much. Trying to see what he brings to the team and he just slows everything down. There’s not enough dynamism about our players and Emery has to take the flack of the blame in not bringing any sort of game plan, playing style or identify to our players. He’s had more than enough time and I don’t want him in charge any longer

If we dont then Emery should not be allowed to continue. But will it be by our own merit alone no probably not. Leicester looks like a team that maybe can make it but its still early days.

I did not watch the game yesterday so i cant comment on that performance.

The way Utd and Sp*rs play is even worse though. So if we fail top 4 its only down to Emery as he will have no one to blame just as Wenger when Leicester won the league.

Bsm walk, I agree 100%, we are awful. We haven’t even been consistent for 90mins and we have been fortunate in each and every game. That’s really why I asked the question. We have been poor but find ourselves just a point behind City because everyone else besides Liverpool aren’t much better. Man Utd are so bad it’s not true and Spurs and their manager look shot. Again I agree Xhaka was terrible, he wasn’t as awful as he has been recently but he was still our poorest player. He’s played 106 PL games for us and the best he has ever played is average. Yes I noticed him go forward, he then passed to a Bournemouth player and as they countered he was treading water trying to get back, he eventually gave up.

Muffler_1 we were good early on, failed to score a 2nd and then in the last 30mins could easily have lost never mind draw. Dick has got things both wrong and right but he has to be given this season. Playing Xhaka is a mistake, making him captain is stupid. Also the Pepe purchase doesn’t make sense, we need CD’s not wingers. Lacazette comes back or we play with wing backs there is no place for him, plus we have better wide men already at the club. Could be Man Utd and Spurs being so bad saves him.

Oracle I don’t agree with the fact we don’t need wingers. We do, which capable member of our squad last season could beat a man or get from to box which wingers can do because normally they’re quite athletic? There was nobody so the wide player was essential to get but perhaps Pepe may not live up to his price tag, early days let’s see. In my opinion we need a new DM because he doesn’t fancy Torreira so we should ship him out, a new playmaker as Ceballos will be gone and another powerhouse box to box midfielder then of course perhaps two new centre backs. We need to inject guile in this team desperately.

Bsm walk, we played most of last season with wing backs, something AMN and Kolasinac can manage, therefore there was no need for a wide man. We bought Martinelli for £6m and he can play wide right or left, Saka has come into the side and so has Reiss Nelson, they can also play wide. This is why I claim spending £72m on a wide man was pointless. And most importantly of all our priority for the last 15 years has been in defence and that should be rectified before anything else. Also when Lacazette returns and plays with Abameyang how can there be room for a wide man without weakening midfield, and with Xhaka in it our midfield is already weak.

I will give Emery this season but if fails again the there is no other one to blame. Thats all Im saying, if he ends up behind Utd and spurs or miss out on top 4 despite beting these two Im sorry thats just not good enough.

Anyone that would defend that was probably defending Wenger in his last years.

So far though Emery has not showed us any improvement as to what was the issues under Wenger. In some aspects its actually worse if we speak defensivly.

Muffler_1, you can’t allow Wenger 10-15 years of failure and then crucify Dick after less than 2 seasons especially when he is stuck with Mustafi, Xhaka, Mkhitaryan and Ozil and has players injured. Once Dick gets his players fit and can offload the dross then judge him. He should be given 3 years considering the mess he inherited.

Yes – I think it really depends on our next 8 games. All winnable. I think we need a couple of big wins under our belt and for Emery to take afew risks. The game against Bournemouth…well, it wasn’t awful per se it was the footballing equivalent of “meh”.

If I look around us, Chelsea might have a depleted squad now that Hazard is gone but they are settling down. I think their problem will be inconsistency due to new, young players needing to perform week in week out. Plus I do think CL will take it out of them. Man United are absolutely there for the taking. I simply have no idea WTF is going on there. The Totts I think are just suffering from squad fatigue. They are bored, manager been there 5 years, no trophies, no new players really. Still dangerous though. If they string together 3-4 wins then they will start flying.

I honestly think we have the better squad (especially with our younger players). With everyone fit I honestly think that we have equal or better players in every position. We’ve got plenty of players showing quality and passion when they do play but Emery insists on leaving them on the bench or playing players in positions that they are struggling with. Our football is totally joyless at the moment. We are actually worse this year than we were last year (apart from our league position) in almost every area.

So, like I say, the next 8 games are absolutely critical. I’d like to see us in second as we go into the Christmas period.

Madmaxsdaddy, Apart from Leicester away our next 10 games aren’t too bad. The fact we are 1 point away from 2nd is staggering really. Once Bellerin, Tierney, Chambers and Holding are fit along with Lacazette performances should improve. Midfield is a cause for concern, Xhaka should not be in the side never mind captain, he is the issue. Torreira is not the same as last season and I think he wants out, forget Ozil he’s gone in effect and will never play regularly again. Ceballos is talented but only in flashes. We need to reinforce midfield in Jan if possible but it won’t be easy. Thank God Man Utd and Spurs are so bad.

Its to early to start jumping up and down on these two. We are only 3 points up on spurs and 6 on united Long may their bad form continue but in reality it wont last all season and especially Spurs are capable of going on a long unbeaten run. The positive is we are third and we have not played well in the league and we can get much much better. As I said I am seeing an improvement in our performances and I know that’s not saying much but I feel we are getting there.
