Looks like this game will be called off. Shame because I think we would have beaten them. I bet we end up playing this now after Salah & Mane are back.

Just as I thought, game postponed because the Scousers are running scared. Had it been the other way around I wonder what the decision would have been.

….”running scared”…..classic. Sorry you dont get to play our youth team every time we meet. I like how Arsenal are starting to shape up and think City got off the hook in your last game. But hoping to face weakened sides due to covid, injury or afcon says more about you than us.

As I said running scared. We had to play our first 3 games of the season even though we were missing 10 players due to COVID and injuries. But as it’s Arsenal no chance of any even handed decisions. We expect it when Mancs are involved but it looks like the favouritism is spreading.

Oh diddums, Scally. Liverpool’s application for postponement had as much credibility as that arrogant anti- vaxxer Djokovic’s application to enter Australia.

    1. Why didn’t LFC publish the names of the players who are affected with Covid?

    2. How many are “injured” in addition to the 3 players at AFCON?

    3. You have 13 players in addition to a keeper who could play.

    4. LFC should have been made to forfeit the match

    5. You don’t get to postpone a match if players are injured or away at a tournament.

Wouldn’t you rather beat ‘the mighty Liverpool’ in a fair match? Wouldn’t that actually mean something? Or would you like to just be awarded a trophy,
just because it’s been a while now. Sad really.

Anyway, Liverpool were the only team giving the names of players testing positive. Funny how spurs and Utd didn’t name any of theirs but took a two week break right when they had new coaches come in.

Look it’s not ideal but some of our not injured, non infected players are away on international duty. Then like everyone else we have some squad injuries to contend with and a very serious outbreak of covid among the team, some just testing positive and some still isolating. Both manager and assistant also out. I think we would rather play the game now than have any fixtures build up.
But Good for you, you’re on an ok run and not currently overly affected by injuries or covid. Look, We might be able to get an under 20s girls side to meet you if that helps, although we can’t guarantee they wont give you covid, or just beat you.

Yes it’s been a while since we won the title,it will be 18 years this May. Still, I suppose it’s better than waiting 30 years isn’t it? You have named 3 players with Covid- the “injured” players and Mane, Salah and Keita’s absence is not relevant in this case. Do you, or do you not have 13 players + a keeper who are able to play? I expect you have and so, instead have flouted the rules. I suppose Kloppy knows he won’t win the title, but would now count the Carabao Cup trophy as meaningful, hence the club’s desperation. “Sad”, as you said, for such a supposedly “great” club, don’t you think?

30 years is a long time. Dont know if we would have coped without picking up a few champions leagues inbetween. You’ve heard of the champions league haven’t you? It’s when the elite teams in Europe compete with each other and an overall winner is crowned. Apparently there was talk of a participation trophy there for a while, but only one team really wanted.
    🙃
I wanted the game to go ahead. We all would rather it did. But clearly we dont have 13 fit and healthy registered players and a goalkeeper available tomorrow, otherwise the game would go ahead.
Anyway wouldn’t you rather beat Liverpool than a cobbled together outfit wearing Liverpool jerseys?

Nonsense, the club wanted it to go ahead?! You have named only 3 players with Covid. You’ve played the system and got away with it. Well done on your CL successes by the way, however for 30 years your great club was unable to sustain a challenge over 9 months to win a Premiership or Division 1 title, pretty poor for the 2nd most successful club in England, don’t you think? As for your suggestion that we play your U 20 girls side- no thanks. Our players are choosy, who knows what they might catch off your girls from the docks and I discount Covid.

Weren’t Villa FORCED to field their YOUTH team this time last year in the FA Cup Cup against Liverpool. Different story then wasn’t it. The bias goes on.

No different story, you didn’t care when Liverpool were forced to field two teams on two different continents within hours of each other. Stop looking for a leg up, like your mate Jeff just mentioned, we took a 30 year sabbatical and are still the most decorated team in English football.

As Peter Hill-Wood once said “Thank you for your interest in our affairs”, ie our TT site. The “most decorated team in English football”, according to who? I suppose we should be glad that thug Mane is in Africa and won’t lead with his elbow for yet another match.

Fulcrum – Forgive the numpty of this forum AKA Oracle AKA Shifters AKA many other usernames.
He has a habit of spouting absolute gibberish. And In this case by chance I had a glance at one of his posts in about a year. And he says Liverpool Are running scared of Arsenal 😂😂😂.Only a deluded person can say this.

I don’t think the case Jeff seems to be arguing is without merit.Basically the point being raised is on what ground has the Postponement been called for. There are way too many games being called off.

Personally,I don’t blame Liverpool. They’re already missing key players and if this happened at our club as well even we would have requested for one.I think the idiocracy lies with the EFL.I hope they have a valid reason for accepting that request.

Also,I’d rather play the second leg at Home and not at Anfield because we all know what happened to Barcelona. No matter what team you field the atmosphere makes for an extra man in your team almost.

Oh and You’re always welcome on this page.

Today we have the news that Klopp has announced that “there were a lot of false positives COVID tests” in his camp causing postponement of last Thursday’s game!! What a surprise and the cheating scouts have been allowed to get away with it by us and the authorities. They had some injuries and AFCON absentees, bet the “injured” players will be back this week.Cheats, that’s all there is to say. They only had Matip, Firmino and Alisson supposedly self-isolating last week. Why could they not field a side from the remaining 25 players in their squad? At least, we got a “thank you” from LFC, well done Vinai for laying down and accepting it- useless imbecile.

What are you supposed to do when you return a positive test? There are after all league led procedures in place. Until a secondary test is taken how do you know the positive is false? If you dont treat it as such surely you will be facing calls of negligence. The majority of people contracting covid have no symptoms.
While us fans would like to see us lift this or any cup, Klopp has never hidden the fact that he would rather the league cup was scrapped for the top 4, he has shown at every opportunity that he is more than happy to field our fringe players in the domestic cups and doesn’t lose sleep when we go out.

Fulcrum, the odds of what Klopp has said are 100million to 1. So i think its fair to say he and liverpool lied through their teeth to get the game called off. Fair play to them for getting away with it. But as they are clearly being found out now, it would only be fair to award the win in our favor, it has nothing to do with playing our best or your best 11, we will no doubt rest most first team players anyway.

We had more actual (real)covid cases for the Brentford and Cheslea games yet were forced to play them, we didnt make lies up to force the abandenment of games like Liverpool clearly have.

Then again this is very much a Liverpool thing to do. Only 2 teams in top flight english football have ever been found guilty of Match-fixing and yep Liverpool are one of those 2 teams (other is UTD) so cheating and lying come very natural to Liverpool.

As another blog suggested, it would be easier to win the Lottery than get 10 false positives in one go, so how very convenient this was a week ago! The whole thing stinks and the day after the match was scheduled to go ahead, Liverpool managed to re-open their training ground. By the way, the individual who sanctioned the postponement was….. Rick Parry, tell me what was his background?! We were in great form after the City match and Klopp would not have wanted to face us. Now, with all his players fit, it’s a different story. As this is the only trophy you are likely to win you will consider this semi-final a win at all costs.Well done to Klopp, played the system ( ie cheated) very well. AFC got a “thank you” from LFC for agreeing to the request- our management has the backbone of an earthworm.
