So i am hoping that with the break and a bit of time to work with the lads we will actually boss this game AND pick up 3 nice points! newcastle have many returning injuries but have been off form of late, our new CB is pushing for a start apparently with the only concern fitness, lets hope for a nice home win
February 13, 2020 at 9:24 am #1826200this wont be an easy game as many of teh top 6 have found this season.
If anything Newcastle are better under Bruce than they were Rafa, much more stel and determination.
We should win and like you i hope the break gave Arteta the chance to really drill home his ideas and requirements from each player. I will go with Arsenal win but not a big score 1-0 or 2-1.
Team for me would be Leno, Bellerin, Luiz, Mari, saka, Tor, Xhaka, Ozil, Martinelli, Aubs, Pepe.
February 13, 2020 at 9:28 am #1826202any news on when tierny might be back, Ska has done very well but id rather see a proper fit Tierny, but we do need ot give him time to get fully fit and over the injuries
Pepe needs to start stepping up a bit now too but im still hopeful, a small break does wonders 🙂
February 14, 2020 at 10:05 am #1826555It all depends on the team selected and the attitude of certain players. If Arteta sticks with Xhaka and Ozil we are in trouble. We need more effort from Lacazette, Abameyang and Pepe although I doubt all 3 will play. Tierney is apparently reaching full fitness but won’t start on Sunday. More worrying news is that Saka is stalling on a new contract. We must win this game, no more draws.
February 14, 2020 at 10:21 am #1826559February 14, 2020 at 12:41 pm #1826592Really Interested to see what is his first 11 on Sunday as he nearly has a full squad so really interested to see who his first 11 will be. The decisions for me will be Tor or Gwen, Saka or Hulk, Mustafi, Mari or Sok Willock or Ozil and then which two play with Aube Nelson, Pepe Martinelli, Laca, or saka again??.
I would give Mari a game if he is fit enough, I would keep Saka left back Ozil centre and Tor centre mid and Martinelli left with Pepe right.
February 16, 2020 at 4:05 pm #1826970WTF is this lineup? Looks like Arteta was on the sauce in Dubai then phoned emery and asked him for advice !!!! No torr or martinez and Nketia to start down the middle and leave Auba on the wing? Then Ceb and Ozil both starting! I don’t even think emery would go this far. If he pulls this off he is a mad genius but if this goes pear shaped he will be slaughtered!
February 16, 2020 at 4:30 pm #1826973It’s a line up to get goals. Looking forward to it. Go on Eddie!
February 16, 2020 at 6:23 pm #1826984Eddie score more goals than Martinez ???? Just don’t see it myself.
February 16, 2020 at 6:28 pm #1826987Well he must be a mad genius! I don’t think we were great but for once we were not great but still won. I still don’t think we have it right up front which seems ridiculous as we scored 4 but I will take that !
February 16, 2020 at 6:59 pm #1826988I think having ceballos in midfield made a difference but Ozil played well and when he does we win. Saka again looked superb, let’s hope we can sort his contract out. Martinelli is an amazing talent but he is too young to play every game, I liked the line and pleased that Arteta gives the youngsters a chance. 4-0 great result COYG!
February 17, 2020 at 9:07 am #1827030strange line up, but clean sheet, 4 goals AND our SEVETH victory…how sad is that!!!
most important of course is 3 points need to keep this going
February 17, 2020 at 2:55 pm #1827131Very strange game. Poor in the first half, pedestrian build up, no imagination. Then in the 2nd half as usual much improved, Ceballos played well, Ozil decided to try, Eddie battled without any service and was unlucky when he hit the bar. Then there is Pepe, something of an enigma, useless in the first half, caught in possession over and over again, poor distribution. Then in the 2nd half he actually had a major influence, he had a hand in all 4 goals so it’s hard to criticise his performance. He strikes me as a talent without a footballing brain but you can’t argue with the fact he had a major influence on the result. Finally we had the MOTM Bukayo Saka, what a talent, we have to tie him down to a long term contract, if we mess up again and lose him to a more ambitious club I shall be livid. Get him signed up
