Hopefully not too much rotation. Tuanzebe, Angel Gomes/Chong and Greenwood to start alongside 1st team players. Think more than that disrupts the team and makes it difficult for the youngsters coming in. If things are going well introduce a couple more youngsters.
Its good we have games like this to give players game time and let them show what they can do.
As for result, anything can happen even a defeat. That’s the consequence of cobbling together a team of players who’ve had little game time. I’m assuming thats what we’ll do but for all I know we’ll field a strong team so there’s no mistakes. Europa may very well be our best route to the CL !!
I would say the key to these games is to keep at least 3 of the back 4, and have an experienced central midfielder, then you can let the youngsters try to work together and create attacks with a solid foundation behind them.
With that in mind, I would play a team something similar to this:
AWB (if 100%)
Bench: De Gea, Gomes, Rojo, Perreira, Dalot, Garner, Rashford.
This gives our three most prominent youth players (Greenwood, Chong, Tuanzebe) a platform to go and play, as well as bringing Fred back in. If we are in control there are options for Dalot, Garner and Gomes to get minutes too.
We have to win at home, they play on AstroTurf in Astana so we won’t be used to that. Still going for a narrow win. I’d like to see Greenwood get a proper run, maybe with an experienced player alongside or behind him, like Mata maybe.
We need to win our home games, I wouldn’t make too many changes. Ole has said Romero, Tuanzebe, Fred and Greenwood will start. Dan James out. Dalot and Lingard have been back training.
Wan Bissaka, Tuanzebe, Maguire, Young
Greenwood, Mata, Chong
