We all know that his game carries more significance than the Bayern one because this one gives us champions league football next season. one concern was the injury to Mount, not sure how bad it is. the rest of the team picks itself. Go, Chelsea! go and do the job, United are breathing on our neck, and we need to put a shift every game. to cut a long story short, if everyone is fit, i will play the same team that played against Everton.

CM I would go for the same team but I’m still not sure whose Rudigers best partner, between Zouma, Christiansen and Tomori they all have mistakes in them. A win is a win cannot expect them to play like that again in every game.

For now, I will also go with the same team because that team deserves to start again. if we press Villa as we did against Everton, we will have a chance in that game. our biggest defence is not who partners who, our biggest defence is attack, and the games against Liverpool and Everton have proven. i hope we don’t let our attacking standards drop.

The team v Villa will depend who is available to play the team v Everton virtually selected itself due to all the injuries.

Frank has already said he was concerned going into the Everton game about how offensive the midfield was and that was a home game v a team not fighting for their lives like Villa are.

Whoever becomes available though between now and Saturday evening I can’t see too many changes.

    Trust in Frank.

We know this Chelsea team is very poor defensively, and the only thing that can cover its weakness, it has been proven time and time that we cannot defend if our life depends on. so the best way to approach the match is to the same way as the Everton one.

We may be shaky defensively but Villa are absolutely horrendous….anyone see the goals they conceded against Leicester. I honestly think Villa are gone. Grealish’s head is elsewhere…dont blame him at all and I reckon we should get the 3 points without too much drama. Team picks itself I reckon if everyone from Saturday is available.

As for the race for top 4…I reckon both Utd and ourselves can overhaul Leicester.

Be good if we could finish above Leicester Stuilse I must admit a Fernandes inspired United worry me and I don’t think we can rely on a City ban freeing up 5th place because if CAS don’t hear the case in time which is quite likely City will ask for the ban to be suspended until it can be heard which is very likely to be granted and would free them up to play in next season’s CL.

One positive for us is the return of all the injured players which might give us a second wind Loftus Cheek returning for instance would be like a new signing.

As an aside Scotland must have some brilliant midfield players if they can afford to leave Billy Gilmour out of their squad.😊

Two clean sheets straight by my recollection and one of them against Liverpool. I would bet on a third here too.

I think it’s still too far to think about Leicester. Man Utd have easier fixtures and are only 3 points behind us. And also an on-fire team with Bruno Fernandes transformed them. And agree about City, we cannot rely on the ban as we don’t know whether the appeal will succeed or not.

I won’t based on Villa’s match against Leicester, the handball that resulted on the penalty was a bit harsh IMO. I think this will be a difficult match for us. Villa have dangerous players: Grealish, Samatta, El-Ghazi, they can score. And if they score first, I reckon we’ll have hard time to recover. We played very well against Everton. But our performance has been inconsistent this season. If we can maintain that good performance, we will beat Villa. But we cannot be not sure which Chelsea will turn up this time.

I don’t like to sound overconfident like some, but I think we can put an attacking line up as we did against Everton. and remember Everton had more players who could hurt us, but their hands were full with our attacking lineup. if we repeat a similar tactic we have a very good chance.

Aindro, I think you’re right re Leicester but we might need to finish above them in the top 4 as hard as that may currently seem if United carry on improving.

The benefits we have over both United and Leicester is the return of so many injured players which should give us a boost and the fact that United will be involved in Europe whilst we almost certainly won’t.

Big task though to ensure we finish in the top 4 and nit too many of us were predicting it before the season started so we’ve probably punched a bit above our weight. Fingers crossed a winning run would be great now.

999 I still see us as underdog. Leicester have 5 more points than us and Man Utd have a way easier fixtures than us. But yes, their involvement in Europa may play an advantage for us as their squad would experience more travels and thus fatigue.

Based on our last two performances, we should be comfortable in this match. i will be disappointed if we drop points in this match. but again i don’t know which Chelsea will turn up for this match.

Aindro, yes I would be much more confident sitting where Leicester are now and they may well have been through their sticky patch.

United worry me because they are playing much better than they were Fernandes looks a player and Pogba will be back soon and at some point Rashford will come back too.

I don’t think 5th place will do it for us for the reasons I outlined although we might get lucky but we can’t write off the teams behind us either.

It could well come down to can our injured players come back and make an impact. Hopefully though we’ve got what it takes for 3 points on Saturday whatever the team.

    Fingers crossed.

I dont think our run in is that bad. Remember that Liverpool would have wrapped up the league long before we play them. Hopefully City will be distracted by the CL and FA Cup as the league for them has gone. Utd are on a it of a run and have shone against the top sides. It’s the sides fighting relegation they’ve struggled against. Top four is currently very much in our hands. Let’s hope it stays that way…with another lovely 3 points at Villa.

I think there’s possibility that Premier League would be suspended due to coronavirus. La Liga has been suspended and before that, Serie A.

Back to the topic, Aston Villa are fighting for their survival in the Premier League. And they have players who can hurt us. That’s why I think this will be a difficult match. I was surprised how we strolled easily against Everton, but I suspect this match against Villa would be much tougher.

I don’t know if you guys I have seen, but I saw reports that say Astonvilla have decided to cut Drinkwater’s loan and return him to Chelsea, and that is because of his poor disciplinary record, he had a bust-up with a team in training, similarly, I saw other reports back in September he had a similar bust-up with another teammate at Burnley. I hope we cancel his contract and release him since it’s unlikely that we will get a buyer for him.

None of the injured players are likely to be available just yet so it looks like the same starting eleven as per the Everton game for sure providing they are all fit.

Chelseaman, Dean Smith on the Drinkwater incident “It is an incident and, like all internal incidents, I’ll deal with it and have dealt with it and that’s the end of the matter.

“I won’t be divulging anything that happens internally, as I wouldn’t do with any incident.”

Does that mean they’re sending Drinkwater back doesn’t sound like it to me and I’m not sure they can anyway hope not anyway.😊

Cancelling contracts can be very difficult and these incidents didn’t happen whilst he was at Chelsea but Drinkwater is one of the players we do need to move on in the Summer albeit we probably won’t get very much for him he could even be a free transfer out he still has two years to run on his contract from this Summer.

Think the season is over guys. Hudson-Odoi the first player to come out testing positive for coronoavirus. Can’t see this season getting a chance to finish
