Probably is over it would be insane if they continue but if it does wonder how everything will be decided re positions or maybe they will restart at a later stage, anyway doesn’t stop us from chatting whenever possible

Cal hardly looks like he is on death’s doorstep and reckons he is all bar recovered after a few days and ready to rejoin his mates in about a week (I thought isolation period was a fortnight). Sadly though for the elderly and those with underlying health issues it can be a death sentence. Maybe it is those people that need to remain isolated until such time as the disease either runs its race and disappears or a vaccine is found to protect them. Word has it we will all get it at some stage as it is now a World pandemic. I’m walking three hours every day trying to get fit enough to beat it up when it arrives 🙂

Life is more important than football, and the decision to cancel all matches is the right decision. although this will halt the momentum that we had been building in our last two matches, but still that is the right decision.

“It is going to spread further and I must level with the British public: many more families are going to lose loved ones before their time,”

Chilling warning from the Prime Minister this can’t be trivialised human lives come before Football and Sport.

I will be suprised if this season gets completed.

While it would be nice to watch soccer in the weekend, this decision makes a lot of sense. In Canada, the wife of our PM has been tested positive yesterday after coming back from London last weekend. I think the virus is just gonna spread and all we can do is just to keep our self healthy and if infected: self-isolation.

CHO tested positive, Arteta too, 3 Leicester players in isolation: it makes sense to suspend this for the time being. The crisis is not only in UK, it’s mondial. Sporting events and even large gathering more than 250 people here have been cancelled or suspended

When their game against Chelsea was postponed, Astonvilla has donated their entire staff lunch to the homeless people charity. that is a classic gesture and such humility for the club is amazing.

Now that there is a possibility of the the season could be abandoned due to the Covid-19, how will the positions be taken? i understand the PL title is nailed for Liverpool as they have commanding lead. but how will the other 3 Champions league positions be filled? will they rule from the current standing or will they use play off? or will they use last season’s standings? also how will the relegation positions be decided? how will the Europa League position be decided?

    The million dollar question yb.

    Only 3 options really imo:

    1) cram the last 9 games of the season. Which seems very unlikely given the Government’s latest announcements.

    2) freeze the PL as of the last game with Liverpool Champions all teams in their current positions who qualify for the CL or the EL qualify, no teams relegated and two teams promoted from the Championship making it a 22 Club PL next season with 5 teams relegated at the end of the 20/21 season.

    3) base qualification for the CL and EL on last season’s League positions and use the same strategy for relegation and promotion.

999 I think the last post merits a new thread. What if ….
We still don’t know if the League can resume. Where I live, we started to close the borders today. So in term of the league, I really am not sure we can resume the current season.<

I think while Liverpool deserve to be champion, should we just award that to them? Or should we just cancel everything and use the result of last season for Europe qualification?
