Going to Old Trafford and restricting ManUre to three shots on goal and one of these a penalty should be a good thing. Unfortunately until they scored we just sat back and absorbed their pressure. It always looked as if it would take a mistake for them to score and that was precisely what happened. A poor header from Brunt straight to Lingard who popped it in the corner. The second was a breakaway goal and I wasn’t surprised as a 20 year old got the beating of a 36 year old. Prior to that Saido missed a header to make it 1-1. We showed that when we attacked with pace we could cause trouble to their defence. Pity we didn’t do it from the start.
Pulis is fantastic at what he does …… his mentality and determination to suck all enjoyment from games of football is legendary, but he will probably do just enough to keep us up. In his post match interview he stated that he expected us to get one good chance in the game to score and that we would have to take it to get anything from the game …… Wonderful. That is likely to be the approach for the rest of the season. It’s pathetic really. Other teams are proving that it is possible to be organised defensively and still create a pile of chances with players no better than ours.
PS I’m 100% convinced i would’ve scored that Berahino chance ….. beginning to be convinced that we should’ve sold him to Spurs.
