Amongst the many deficiencies in the squad,I’m scratching my head figuring out why Arteta keeps playing them together.I’ve raised this question many times at the past, this is a partnership that cannot be relied upon.Football is not as simple. Both are out and out strikers, and to shift one of the most prolific strikers out wide just to accommodate an out of form striker is not really paying off is it.Tell me,do Ageuro and Jesus start together?Do Abraham and Batshuayi start together? Most of the other teams don’t even Keep a second striker.Barca play with only suarez up front no back up, real have only benzema.

The fact that auba is still scoring goals just proves how good he is.But guess what, he can do better if he is shifted centrally. He’ll score more goals. And we’ll get a better balance. This isn’t only about laca, even nketiah or whoever it is.We need to strike the right balance.I’ve suggested play auba through the centre with Saka and pepe flanking him.I cannot understand why Saka isn’t being made to play in that position, with Kolasinac at LB who can make some great overlapping runs.

But more importantly, after the EL game this partnership cannot continue anymore.I have full faith that Arteta is the right person to take us forward but just notice what happened yesterday. We were shifting the ball out wide time and again, and putting in crosses only for no one to get at the end of them. This happened more than 30 times where the ball went into the box, with only Auba taking advantage of one chance, and that too it was a rather tough goal to score no doubt.

Arteta can’t pick Kola at the moment since he is out injured and he was injured before he came back against Everton and then he got injured again in that game.

It pains me to say it but Laca is just not good enough. Can’t fault his work rate but he lacks the clinical finishing that top strikers have. Arteta has been more than fair in giving everyone a clean slate and an opportunity to prove themselves. Unfortunately Ozil has reverted to type and must be shown the door this Summer. Xhaka and Mustafi should follow, their performances have improved but they are simply not good enough if we are serious about returning to the CL. This upcoming transfer window will be the most important in our history. As well as the three mentioned already there are more that need to be sold. So far I like what I have seen from Arteta, now it is up to the Club’s hierarchy to give him support he needs to sort out the mess he inherited from Wenger and Emery.

Muffler – For when Kola is available or even tierney,I’d like to see them in at full back with Saka pushed outwide next to Auba. That way he can provide more creativity, has more freedom and even track back to cover the full back which is very important.
It’s an absolute no brainer, there’s no other player that can provide a similar balance. The fact that we now have to rely on a 19 year old just proves this squad is weak and unbalanced and most importantly unplanned.

Ottawa – Laca is actually a good finisher but someone who’s on extremely poor form probably the worst season of his career. But for me it’s more about the balance.I don’t want to shift auba outwide. It doesn’t sustain in the long term.
I don’t think Mustafi is good enough, but xhaka certainly is and he’s proved that.I don’t know what more you want from him.It doesn’t mean we should not sign other midfielders, we must certainly should as that will be the defining moment for next season.
Speaking about defining moments,I agree that this transfer window is going to be the most important in a long time.we’ve got the manager, have we got the backing. Most certainly not.

Will auba or laca be sold? Will both?Who will replace them. Will Ozil be Sold and if yes who will replace him?Which midfielders will we sign?Who’ll be the creative force in our team.Man utd signed Bruno Fernandes…Who do we have?
A LOT of important decisions to be made this summer. But I can tell you that regardless now that we’ve failed to qualify for the CL,the owners Kronke will need to pump in his own money for any sort of success.Something that he has never done, and never will and even indicated the same.Hence,I can see us only being pushed down further in the table.
You can whinge about managers, players ,upper management etc but the owners will always remain the single biggest problem of the club.Until we get rid, we can never achieve success again.

TSO, unfortunately we are not going to see a change in ownership any time soon. Having said that they did back Emery with, by Arsenal standards, significant investments in players. What we have to question is how the money was spent; over 70M for Pepe who is still struggling versus United’s 65M for Fernandes who from day one has made them a better team. For me the priorities have to be getting an effective CB pairing and at least one mobile CDM to screen them. We are devoid of a playmaker, Ozil is a spent force and I don’t think Willock has the nous for that position, certainly not at this stage of his development. We also need a RB, Bellerin has lost more than a step and AMN lacks focus. We have many players that can be moved on to raise transfer funds and reduce the wage bill but we can’t afford to bring in any more duds. To address your Xhaka comments, his performances have improved significantly since Arteta came in but for me his lack of mobility is a concern. He would do extremely well in Italy or Spain where the game is less intense. Bottom line is that we have to get it right this summer otherwise it’s many more years of diminishing revenues and by extension transfer funds.

Ottawa – I don’t think the money has been that poorly spent this Season. We’ve needed a Quality out and out winger since 2 years now.We tried for Zaha, didn’t happen. We tried for pepe,it did.For me he’s playing well and people need to see that. His end product is lacking, and that too it was only against Olympiakos.I have confidence he’ll prove his worth. Then we signed ceballos,15m was a steep price for a season.A bit ridiculous actually if that’s the price we actually paid but I’m still unsure on where he stands.Either way we’ve needed 2-3 central midfielders for some time now.
David Luiz was nothing but a panic buy. He’s a terrible defender who’s shown much inexperience. Some games he’s been decent but overall 8m is not too much money so it’s fine.Martinelli was a steal at 8m.Our best buy in a long time.

My problem is that every single season we neglect certain positions in the squad.Every single season this happens.Sure we signed pepe but who was going to play on the left side?We sold iwobi and miki without any planning. And we’ve had to play Auba there who is being made to play out of position. Our midfield is light,For me this is a very important position and it will be crucuial what we do.Ozil has to leave, ceballos I’m not sure about to even sign him well need to spend around 40m at least.Guendozi has gone backwards.Torreira might leave. It’s a very bad situation there. My problem is there is no proper plan,I guarantee you when the next season starts, there will yet again be certain positions neglected. And this time I feel it will be more than usual because of lack of CL.
