This has got to be some kind of wind up! The directors and chairman of the club want to know what’s gone wrong at VP this year so have launched a ‘full scale investigation’ to find out what’s happened. Where do I send the giant mirror to?
I wouldn’t pay this lot in smarties! Complete morons!
February 23, 2016 at 11:44 am #879331But Steve Hollis is leading the inquest with Mervyn King.. we cant blame them surely?
February 24, 2016 at 10:42 am #880921You are quire right that they are leading it. Unfortunately I worry about the arse covering from the rest involved. I would have appointed somebody completely detached and unbiased to look at where, what and who need changing. It needs to be warts and all which we’re not going to get from an inside investigation – similar to fifa investigating themselves – that went well didn’t it!?
February 24, 2016 at 3:15 pm #881557but Hollis is detached.. no previuos interest in Villa not even a footy fan.. cant get much more detached.
I think the FIFA scandle with embezzlment racketeering and involving countless different governing bodies, sponsors , governments and multi national companies is very different to whats happening at Villa.. we are not being investigated by the FBI for starters and no one has been arrested, charged or extradited..
I think having a highly respected business man previuolsyy from KPMG supported by the ex bank of England who is also a villa fan is a pretty good couple of people to look into this
February 24, 2016 at 4:59 pm #881698I agree Jimmy – i think Steve Hollis has come in and basically begun evaluating already what the hell is going on under the different guise of ‘helping’ the current CEO, and with Mervyn King now involved as well it’s a perfect time to start sorting out the administration of the club. You simply don’t come into a club at the level he is at in the midst of a relegation fight and basically accuse the players of not being good enough and say the results on the pitch show the recruitment policy has not been good enough when all the architects of the situation are still very much in place. Unless of course that you are firing a warning shot across the bows of the people who are incumbent that you don’t think what they have done is fit for purpose. Not spending any money in January is further evidence, i just genuinely feel sorry for Remi Garde as I actually like him – he tells it how it is, is very concise and talks a lot of sense, he has just been hung out to dry due to the situation and I don’t think we will get to see what he can actually do as a result.
February 25, 2016 at 9:31 am #882577good post dajb_1975 agree completly
February 25, 2016 at 10:51 am #882730dajb_1975 good post – however I worry about the final outcome, do you think theys will get rid of the under performing money men if they do it will be with a expensive golden hand shake) do you think they will replace them with people with a football mentality No they wont – they will be replaced with more money men as recent history dictates. Until they get some passion on the board that support AVFC and can communicate with the fans then very little will change.
February 25, 2016 at 9:34 pm #884023Mort – Im just pleased they are under investigation – that is a step forward in itself. I can’t see Reilly staying or almstadt either. As for who they get in – I’m really not sure but you couldn’t get a more passionate villa fan than Mervyn king so that’s a start. if they don’t get football men in then I think league one is a very real threat. It’s heart breaking.
