I gotta say, that felt just about as good as winning a trophy!
Both legs were incredible, such a high standard of football. Better than any you’ll see in a world cup, better than anything you’ll see in the league all season. Two great teams, I would have been proud even if we didn’t go through to the final, but to actually turn it around like that… Unbelievable.
May 8, 2019 at 12:19 am #1749680j c this was quite possibly the greatest comeback, and spectacle, in a CL semi-final so far.
But the job is not done yet, we just have to find a way to win the final
May 8, 2019 at 12:26 am #17496813 European finals in 3yrs
2 back to back CL finals
Time to win one!Absolutely flabbergasted by this!
May 8, 2019 at 12:39 am #1749683Our past losses in finals have nothing to do with our coming CL final. Its time to win one only when we put in the performance to take one.
May 8, 2019 at 3:09 am #1749695Indeed Mak, we didn’t deserve to win the AC final nor the Madrid one. We play like we have been doing for the last 9 months and we’ve a huge chance.
May 8, 2019 at 3:33 am #1749698That was quite special lads and minus two of your front line as well. Richly deserved and the right team went through after the score line from the first leg which was totally unjustified. Go on and win it now. Best wishes this weekend too. Stranger things have happened and Brighton could just surprise City and frustrate them to a draw. Wouldn’t that cap off the week nicely, providing you lads win of course 🙂
May 8, 2019 at 4:03 am #1749703It is great to appear in back to back CL finals though. As JC said, it did feel like a trophy win. there are few matches in my time as sa fan that can even compare to this turn-around.
I mean this 90 minutes aside, it carries with it a side order of vindication for what was a harsh 3-0 loss in the previous leg. Everything else that I could say about it would sound cliched, because it was kinda magical.
There’s an American friend of mine who’s recently moved over to Spain with his GF. He’s a Red Sox fan, so converting him to the sport and as a Liverpool fan was made kinda easy TBH. Well, he’s been watching us this season and has really loved what we’ve been doing in the PL. Before this match I”d reinforced just how difficult this would be to turn around, so not to expect it.. but at the same time he’s heard about Istanbul and also about Anfield in Europe.
This match blew him away. I had to tell him after that he’ll never see anything quite as good as this again and that even with our past, this night was incredibly special.
I think we’ve got a much better chance at winning the CL this time. The lads have that experience from last season> It wasn’t good at the time but they’ll be facing a side who haven’t got a single man who’s played a CL final (unless Huntelaar has?.. too tired to remember/look)..
It’s a fresh wound in some ways for us but in other ways, it’s a reinforcement of quality. it’s good to know that it’s not your one and only shot, that they are good enough to appear there again and again. How many it takes and you can see the extra belief that they have in themselves.
Not to take either Spurs or Ajax lightly though of course. That would be extremely foolish.
May 8, 2019 at 4:08 am #1749704Much appreciated Chelsea1967. It’s been a roller-coaster season for us and last nights win was way too crazy to believe in some ways but as you say, I think the better team went through.
Congrats on getting yourselves back into the CL. Hoping you boys can delay that ban but even if you don’t Pulisic will prove to have been a vital signing.
As for the PL. I think Leicester was our last real chance but if tonight tells us anything, you can never be sure. We just have to do our part and beat Wolves (not a small task) and see what happens.
If it doesn’t go well for us, it’ll be a hell of a lot easier to mean my congrats to City on taking it… but I’ve been holding off and that isn’t gonna change til it’s done.
Cheers.

May 8, 2019 at 8:19 am #1749754Respect!! Great match guys and good luck in the final!!
May 8, 2019 at 9:23 am #1749789Utd will be always at Liverpool shadow. Martial art pray to God for losing the title to have a pleasure. 4 CL finals in 14 years. Utd 2 in 25 years.
May 8, 2019 at 9:39 am #1749801I am still Gasted by flabber,
My sleep last night was 4-0, 4.0, every time I was in semi sleep it was the same.Origi summed it up perfectly,” we had to fight, we had to be brave, we had to take chances”
May 8, 2019 at 10:03 am #1749819Epic. Legendary. Unparalleled.
No other English club owns Europe like Liverpool do. The atmosphere last night was one that doesn’t exist in England outside of Anfield I think. Even by Liverpool European standards it was special.
Massive respect and admiration to your whole club boys. Players, fans. Magical.
May 8, 2019 at 10:22 am #1749836Thanks Ash, much appreciated lad. It was pretty incredible alright. It had looked like winning something was off the table and when we’ve played so well, it can be kinda hard to take but it’s amazing to have the CL back on the menu. One more BIG BIG performance!
May 8, 2019 at 10:31 am #1749844Special thanks to our rival fans for their comments. The genuine ones make watching football great.
Ash, 999, MUFC 3 of the notable ones.
can’t wait for Saturday now. After last night, anything is possible!
May 8, 2019 at 10:48 am #1749857Ginger “More chance of Brighton doing something on Sunday that us winning 4-0 tomorrow night”.
So you think Brighton will do it on Sunday then?
May 8, 2019 at 10:54 am #1749861Bofa you ask how much Origi is worth now?
Well I would say he’s worth around £80m, definitely worth more than Lukaku
May 8, 2019 at 11:00 am #1749868These games are decided by such small margins. When Trent took ‘that’ corner, the truth was that no Barca players were ready for it…..but similarly, no Liverpool players were ready for it. In fact, Origi was our only player in any sort of attacking position the box and when the ball was kicked, he wasn’t looking at TAA either. However, at some point in the ball’s flight, he switched on and the rest is now history. Whether it was luck, judgement, instinct or whatever, but he became aware of the situation a split second before the Barca defenders and that split second made the difference between that moment becoming one of LFC legendary status and it threatening Iago Aspas as the deliverer of one of the dampest squib corners, at such a critical time, in our entire history.
May 8, 2019 at 11:36 am #1749902Red Herring … I think you are doing Divock a HUGE disseervice there. Watch it again .. he was TOTALLY switched on to what Trent was doing. Divock definitely WAS watching the ball. Do you really think he’d have been able to score that goal without being alert to the situation?
May 8, 2019 at 1:06 pm #1749941Derek>> No, on the contrary, I wasn’t trying to do Origi any sort of disservice, huge or otherwise as I was saying that he was engaged with what was going on with perfect timing and, most importantly, ahead of the entire Barca team. But, I still don’t think that it was a planned move that Divock was playing along with; it was just fantastically opportunistic by Trent who was so alert to the fact that the additional ball that was being thrown towards the corner flag had averted the attention of the Barca players. I’ve tried to watch it again (on iPad), but it’s a bit hard to get a clear view of Divock’s movements, but you can see the white of his number and, to all intents and purposes, I don’t think he picks up what is happening until the ball is on its way. Then, just a great and instinctive finish.
I’m not here to pick an argument about this on such a great day for the club…..and I’ve just booked my flights to Madrid before they get any more horrendous if Spurs scrape through later on.
