Almost certainly the end of our CL campaign I suspect the best we can hope for especially given all the injuries is that we don’t get too embarrassed by Bayern.

    Probable team 3/4/3?:

Willie, Christensen, Rudiger Zouma/ James, Kante or Jorginho, Kovacic, Alonso/ CHO, Giroud, Mount.

Although Goal have reported that Frank has called on his academy players to fill the gaps left by injury.

Lewis Bate, Dynel Simeu and Ian Maatsen – all 18 years old or younger – have been told to prepare for the trip to Germany.

Think its worth watching to see the performance of the individuals as a barometer going forward, there’s no way in heaven or hell we going to overturn a 3 goal defeceit on their ground. Not to mention all the players unavailable due to injuries and suspensions.

While Caballero hasn’t done any obvious mistake, he hasn’t been spectacular either. I think this match should be given to Kepa to show his abilities (if any). Agree, there’s no way we’ll overturn 3 goals. Even I won’t be surprised if Bayern beat us again. But hopefully we’ll save our honour by at least getting a draw. We are supposed to be fitter than them as Bundesliga had ended way before Premier League.

Hudson-Odoi has to be given opportunities too. It upset me when FL introduced Pedro, who was leaving, against Arsenal to substitute Pulisic instead of Hudson-Odoi. While Pedro was decent, he was not spectacular either. I think it was a mistake as we should give our future generation a chance.

    My team: 4-3-3: Kepa – Reece James,Rudiger,Zouma,Emerson – Kovacic,Kante,Barkley – Mount,Giroud,Hudson-Odoi

Have to say that Bayern are way beyond our class. A decent effort from us though. Bayern attackers were unmarked in our defensive, I think Christensen & Zouma were poor. Hopefully we will get our recruitment right to continue to build our young team to challenge for trophies next season.

Not unexpected and it highlighted the obvious areas that we need to improve in the transfer market hopefully that’s what we’ll do after fingers crossed we get Harvertz over the line.

Reasons to be cheerful CHO in glimpses looked the player we know he can be and 14 of tonight’s squad were from the Academy.

More or less expected I thought maybe a 3-1 loss, however the weakness in defence was once again highlighted and it’s going to take a small miracle for Frank to solve this huge problem before the season starts, I mean what can he really do? He can’t bring in a whole new defence and even if he could there’s no guarantee it will work. I’m surprised how Zouma, Rudiger, Christiansen have slipped back into mediocrity.
